Here’s a black ale to brighten your day. Wake Up Dead lurks in our cellars for over 4 months before being unleashed. Hints of raisins, black licorice, coffee and dark chocolate are followed by earthy, herbal hop notes. Any apprehensions about the rest of your day are quickly forgotten, for whatever the mind expects, it finds. Sometimes you’re not in the mood for what everyone else is having.

En solid stout! Smag af chokolade, kaffe med en sødme af rosiner. Rigtig nydeøl

Dark and rich, roast, chocolate, coffee. Full bodied and velvety texture. Slight astringency in the finish.

On tap at Darby’s Gastown in Vancouver. Very creamy due to the nitro. Quite nice. 3.6

glennmastrange (2957) - hobe sound, Florida, USA - JAN 19, 2018
UPDATED: JAN 19, 2018 Bottle. Moderate dark chocolate, toasted and dark bread for the malt, light herbs and dough for the hops and yeast, with cinnamon and sweet sherry in the background. Head is small, creamy, beige, with excellent lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is very dark brown. Flavor starts lightly to moderately sweet and slightly acidic, then finishes lightly sweet and moderately bitter. Palate is medium to full, creamy, with a soft carbonation and a lightly alcoholic finish. A really good, straightforward Imperial Stout.

dfearnley (2425) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - JAN 19, 2018
Aroma is chocolate, coffee, rum, raisins, and juniper. Taste is boozy, licorice, soy, chocolate, coffee, and burnt malts. The bitterness needs to be more balanced, in my opinion.

beerbroak (18) - Alaska, USA - JAN 11, 2018
UPDATED: JAN 19, 2018 12oz bottle; pours smooth with a light smooth lace and creamy head, on the nose; notes of chocolate roasted barley with a creamy coffee linger. First impression; insanely drinkable, smooth full body with good light coffee and roasted barley over the tongue. A sweet stoutly body and creamy smooth finish, lightly hopped. Phanomenal.

Poured into pint glass had a nice creamy head. Aroma is yeasty and malty reminds you of sweet bread. Taste is full flavor roasted barley that has a pleasing finish that stays with you. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Aus der Flasche (Vintage 2016) im 2017-12 getrunken. Wieder so ein Stout von Left Hand mit sehr kräftigen Röstaromen mit Mokka- und Kakaoaromen. Sehr gelungende Aromamischung. Lecker!

I love this beer. I just had it for the first time a couple of weeks ago. I couldn't help myself, I drank 3 of the four bottles. I'm way too old for that. Lots of nice sweet malt. Can't really taste the hops. Even at 10% ABV the alcohol is not obvious. This is going on my must drink list.
