Bottled, 355ml aged 8.2 years as Left Hand Imperial Stout from Beers of Europe, Norfolk. Virtually black with tan head. The first impression is how sweet the beer is. sucrose, silky notes, a touch overly sweet for me. Following this there is a prune like flavour, quite rich and again sweet, damson, dark roasted malts. An enjoyable Impy Stout but just not quite there for me. DiarmaidBHK (5947) - Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 2, 2017
Nooner at Taco Mac University. Pours black in nitro with a thick khaki head. Coats the glass with lacing. Lots of raisin and licorice on the nose and tongue. Hides it’s booze well. Not bad. Franckg (1874) - Trois-Rivières, Quebec, CANADA - JAN 1, 2017
Bouteille.
Nitro pour at Leon’s Full Service, Decatur, Georgia. Very black (okay it is dark in here but I’m going for very black) with a huge tan head. Aroma is a bit light, as I often find with nitro pours: a bit of chocolate, vanilla, toffee, liquorice and maybe some oak. I like what is there, I just wish there was more of it. Sublime taste: sweet with a rebellious liquorice spiciness and a brandied booziness. There is a strong balancing bitterness, however; the beer keeps its complexity all the way to the long finish. Creamy as you like in the mouth. So nice. Travlr (26198) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - DEC 22, 2016
Bottle. Very dark brown color, beige head. Aroma has licorice, coffee, vanilla. Taste is espresso, cocoa, more licorice. Nice sipper.

Roast, caramel and nut. Dark chocolate. Creamy thick consistency. Black pour with great head and lacing. Bittersweet finish. Nitro at pizza Paradiso. Bulk_Carrier (6065) - Vermont, USA - OCT 29, 2016
Poured into a snifter, the appearance was a official black color with a thin eggshell white to sly tan foamy head that dissipates spectacularly in a film of a messy lace. puboflyons (3508) - Allenstown, New Hampshire, USA - OCT 23, 2016
The aroma starts off with a balanced sweet milk chocolate to robust roasty coffee to sly sweet vanilla bean.
The flavor balances very nicely between the sweet to the roast with a semi-sticky malty to roasty aftertaste with a quick sly roasty/malty finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a nice sessionability about it. Low carbonation. For an RIS, this one had a super low booziness to it.
Overall, to me, I absolutely loved this beer. For the style, well, it’s damn good and would love to have again.
From the 12 fl. oz Nitro bottle with an enjoy by date of 06/08/17. Gorgeous jet black pour with a soft, delicate tan head floating on top. Lacing. On the nose I pick up some dark roasted malts, licorice, Anise and a hint of alcohol. The body is creamy smooth and full. The taste has a nice roasty character with a low to no hop profile and a dryish finish.
