Taste is coffee, dark chocolate, spicy hop notes, dried fruit. Metallic aftertaste. The nitro doesn’t work well for a beer this big, feels thin and flat on the palate. If this was carbed normally, I’d probably like it better. BrewTom (660) - - FEB 18, 2017
Nice brown head in pouring. Subtle coffee aroma. Smooth, creamy, chocolatey texture with spicy bitter finish. An excellent RIS.

Other than pouring completely flat, this is a fine beer. Thick but not too sweet, is has a nice sticky flavor. Good stuff. Andrew196 (1851) - Katy, Texas, USA - JAN 27, 2017
Bottle to snifter - pours black with a small but lingering beige head. Aroma is ripened dark fruit, vanilla and cocoa, toffee... Very inviting. Silky smooth down the hatch... Most of the fruits yielded to coffee, smoke, more cocoa but that raisin edge remains. Lingering bittersweet finish with an earthy tones. Well done.

Bottle. Bought Aug 2015; BBE Feb 2016; Drank Dec 2015 - Very Dark Brown / Black in colour. Average creamy beige head. Very Malty; very roasty malts, coffee, dark chocolate, caramel, liquorice. Fruity; dark fruits, raisins, berries. Spicy notes. Hoppy; moderately hoppy; earthy hops. Smooth. Full bodied. Initially sweet roast coffee malty. Then increasingly salty and liquorice. Ending bitter dry roast almost burnt. Good. Liked this. Interesting and rather unusual Impy Stout! (2015-12-06)

Bottled, 355ml aged 8.2 years as Left Hand Imperial Stout from Beers of Europe, Norfolk. Virtually black with tan head. The first impression is how sweet the beer is. sucrose, silky notes, a touch overly sweet for me. Following this there is a prune like flavour, quite rich and again sweet, damson, dark roasted malts. An enjoyable Impy Stout but just not quite there for me. DiarmaidBHK (4777) - Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 2, 2017
Nooner at Taco Mac University. Pours black in nitro with a thick khaki head. Coats the glass with lacing. Lots of raisin and licorice on the nose and tongue. Hides it’s booze well. Not bad. Franckg (1609) - Trois-Rivières, Quebec, CANADA - JAN 1, 2017
Bouteille.
Nitro pour at Leon’s Full Service, Decatur, Georgia. Very black (okay it is dark in here but I’m going for very black) with a huge tan head. Aroma is a bit light, as I often find with nitro pours: a bit of chocolate, vanilla, toffee, liquorice and maybe some oak. I like what is there, I just wish there was more of it. Sublime taste: sweet with a rebellious liquorice spiciness and a brandied booziness. There is a strong balancing bitterness, however; the beer keeps its complexity all the way to the long finish. Creamy as you like in the mouth. So nice.
