Pours a one finger light tan head that fades slowly leaving a good lace. Black color, no highlights. Light carbonation and light bodied. Coffee nose and flavor is baked chocolate and coffee, higher ABV, 8.5%, is hidden. $6.95 for a 22oz bottle from Colonial Spirits Acton, Ma. My buddy Adrien picked this up in a trip to see his folks. Slightly aged bottle. The aroma is really nice. Coffee comes through with roasted malts and a light maple sugar note. The flavor shows me the maple sugar up front with coffee a slightly lingering affect in the finish. The body does have the nice chewy oats that help enhance the stout. The body is a big positive since I love the chewiness. I don’t find bacon anyplace but the other flavors are pretty well integrated. Slightly above average and I had no problem drinking this stout. Maybe the bottling problem have been corrected by the brewer. This bottle had some time to sit and had no problem whatsoever. I would love to sample on draft to see if bacon can be found.
Bomber into a magic hat coffee glass new year day 2015. Pours a medium black with dark coffee hues. Faint lacing, toasty brown, no real head retention, minimal ring round the glass. Aroma not too over bearing of all the breakfast goodness in this one. Maple is in the front, regular oatmeal, French roast coffee, no bacon. Taste is nicely a smogours board of a bfast brew. Hearty stout appeal, thick yet drinkable, more maple, more coffee , more oats, still trying to find the bacon though. Bitter and dry on the tounge and aftertaste, but a sweet coca lingers in as well. This is a nice imp stout. Easy going down and fun. Emphasis on fun. Beer us good first thing in the morning. Not a case of hair of the dog though. Just a good decision to save this one. djd07 (14469) - Houston, Texas, USA - OCT 16, 2014
Bottle during RBWG. Pours a dark brown with small beige head. The aroma is roast and chocolate. Thin mouthfeel light roast, sweet chocolate, decent. BroSpud (2188) - , Massachusetts, USA - JAN 29, 2014
22oz bottle. Pours black with a thick creamy tan head. Another great looking brew from Lefty’s but like all the other Lefty’s I have tasted it comes off lacking in flavor and on the thin side. Hard to believe that such a great looking brew with such great ingredients can be so average.

Infected again. If you buy a Leftys beer drink it right away because there is something brewing in these bottles that if you dont drink them right away it takes off and leaves a sour trash flavor on the back end. Leftys meet drain. Ernesto987 (6050) - Arizona, USA - NOV 17, 2013
Bah this one is infected, the base flavors are all ok but there is some notes of trash in there Theydon_Bois (19488) - Hazlemere, the lower Xhitlerns, Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - JUN 8, 2013
Bottle at the Beer Shop, East Longmeadow, MA during a meet the brewer event, 19/05/13.
Very dark mahogony brown with a thin tan head.
Nose is roast malt, chocolate, light smoke, touch of coffee.
Taste comprises brown sugars, dark toffee, light chocolate, molasses, smoked ham notes in the finish.
Medium bodied with fine carbonation, light smoke in the finish.
Ok but as with other Lefty’s beers I sampled at this tasting - lacks depth and character for an 8%+ Impy ! SudsMcDuff (8428) - .....Manchester United.........., Texas, USA - MAR 13, 2013
lobby share bottle .. medium brown .. mild foam .. cooking chocolate and dennys syrup .. . light beer, not much going on .. . . there’s a pizza place near where I live that sells only slices... in the back you can see a guy tossing a triangle in the air... Another lefty’s shared by Leighton in the lobby, RBWG. Fun to see Hadley in mentioned in the description of this beer-- a place I used to call home! But that’s where the fun ends. Kind of a less potent imperial stout, slightly akin to its neighbor at BBC. Fine, but nothing close to elite in crowded style.
