1-2-10....bomber...virtually zero carbonation...slightly cloudy golden bodied beverage....just clear bubbles...aroma is that of ice wine....real sweet ice wine flavors as well...9% is undetected....its like a flat light beer on the first sip...then the flavor seeps in...creamy and light in the mouth blipp (9501) - La Mesa, California, USA - FEB 10, 2010
Bottle. Pours gold with a white head. Lightly sweet aroma with some even lighter spicy hints. The flavor has some slightly citric sweetness and a bit more robust of a spice profile than the aroma. Decent. allfreej (556) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - DEC 13, 2009
Bottled. Cloudy golden pour, bright white head. Juicy Fruit gum nose. Spicy fruity falvor, bitter, rather astringent finish with just a hint of alcohol. Decent, but there are lots of better Tripels out there. glennmastrange (2897) - hobe sound, Florida, USA - NOV 15, 2009
Bottle. Grainy malt notes, lemony herbal hops, soapy yeast, with background notes of licorice and white wine. Head is average size, frothy, white and has no lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is sparkling clear pale amber.Flavor starts and finishes lightly sweet and acidic, with a bit of bitter in the finish. Palate is light to medium., watery but a little slick with a lively carbonation. An interesting beer, but not really what I expect out of a Tripel. keepersj12 (3133) - Sicklerville, New Jersey, USA - SEP 26, 2009
Kind of bland for a Belgian Strong. Pours a clear amber with a good lacing head. Aroma is lacking, light malt. Flavor is sweet with honey but none of the spices you would expect. Finish is a bit watery and sweet. I would expect more from this brewery.

Floral hop aroma. Clear golden coloured and hoppy with a crisp and slightly bitter dry malt finish. shigadeyo (3759) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JUL 29, 2009

July 2008: pours a clear deep golden/copper color. It has rapid carbonation and a small white to ohff-white head that provides light lacing on the glass. The beer smells weak, but is spicy with some corriander and light citrus notes. There is a decent maltiness in the flavor with some floral overtones. It has a medium-light body and a prickly carbonation feel. Overall this beer has a good malt/hop/spice balance.

THOUGHTS: It was a tripel, so it was pretty good, but it wasn’t the best tripel. What made it worse was that I had just tried Gouden Carolus’ very complex tripel the night before. This hid the alcohol rather well, though. It was definitely not "a state of perfection" as the label claimed.
TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured an ever so slightly hazy, medium gold with a small, slightly off-white head that mostly diminished and left fair lacing. The aroma was not very strong. There was moderate malt, light yeast, grape, white wine, light alcohol, candy sugar, light colored fruits and slight spice. The initial flavor was sweet and a little acidic; while the finish was sweet, acidic and bitter with and average duration. There was candy sugar, fruit, a little white wine, grape, slight banana, a little spice, but overall sort of cloyingly sweet and syrupy tasting. The medium body was syrupy then dry with fizzy carbonation and a lightly metallic, lightly astringent, lightly alcoholic and slightly dry finish. On tap. Labeled as a Belgian Strong Ale but is definitely a Tripel. Pours with a small white head that leaves little lacing and has little retention. Although this is filtered to a clear, light yellow, the aroma is clearly a Tripel with powerful notes of Belgian yeast, white pepper, coriander, some strawberries, blueberries, orange blossom honey, and orange/lemon peel. Great, creamy palate. Sort of like a glorified witbier and Abbey Tripel combined. I really enjoyed this.
