Bottle courtesy of sloth. Pours gold with a white head. Smells of perfume, some citrus, pepper, some dry malt. Tastes of wildflowers, perfume, grass, hay, light pepper, fruit. nuplastikk (6421) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - SEP 8, 2008
12oz bottle. I’m assuming that the Fat Dog Lager was either an earlier version or a misreading of the name. This one is definitely FAT BOY Lager. Filtered orange-tan appearance. Sweet, doughy English malt aroma. Taste is slighty reminiscent of a British Bitter. Very well balanced beer, with the Amber malt playing very well into the whole flavor profile. Mildly hopped, with a nice crisp hoppy mouthfeel upfront. Pretty much a session beer all the way. gsmitty80 (2130) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 20, 2008
Pours a copper red with nice frothy head that doesn’t dissipate too quickly. Aroma is nice of very floral and fresh hops. The taste was of overwhelming dry hoping, with a nice sweetly bitter red ale flavor and clean crisp water finish. Not much of a lingering taste except for a little sweetness. Very good. guzzler67 (1696) - Hanover, Maryland, USA - DEC 11, 2008
Clear amber appearance with a fairly large white head that left decent lacing. Caramel malt aroma with hints of cookie dough and soft fruit. Moderate floral hop taste overshadowed by the malts. Medium bodied, nicely carbonated mouthfeel with a short lived finish. asedzie (831) - San Francisco, California, USA - JUL 24, 2009
Bottle. Grocery Outlet in Berkeley. Pours deep amber with small off-white head. Aroma of very light herbal and mild citrus-like hops, toasted malt. Flavor is slightly sweet with lingering hop bitterness. Not much complexity, but not a bad sessionable dark(er) lager. Closer to a vienna or american dark in style, really.

On tap at the KSBF ’08. Poured a medium amberish color with a small sized off white head. Aromas of flroal, citrus, and grains. Tastes of caramel, floral, citrus, and grains. Rciesla (5499) - Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA - MAY 27, 2009
Bottle. Pours an amber body with an off whtie head. Pepper spice, and some dry floral fruit and damp wood. Light body with a subtle fruit and toasted malt. bhensonb (15630) - Woodland, California, USA - JUN 14, 2009
Bottle from Grocery Outlet. Pours a copper color with a decent off-white head. Aromas of pepper, floral hop and caramel. Tickles my nose. Medium body with frothy carbonation. Flavor is berry?, wood, caramel, leather, pepper? It’s a bit bready, but has some fruit. Finishes mildly bitter. Surprising. Good. jeremytoni (3082) - Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA - JUL 6, 2009
From a bottle poured a light amber color with a good amount of head. Light watery hoppy malty flavor with a quick finish. marcus (10584) - Sacramento, California, USA - SEP 2, 2009
This reddish amber beer poured with a huge beige head and a smoky aroma. It’s got a decent caramel malt base and some nice hop bitteness, but it’s too watery. A pretty good amber ale.
