This Red Ale pours a hazy, amber-red body with half an inch of light-tan head that settles to a ring. The nose is malty, very toasty, earthy, mildly sweet, and somewhat caramely, with a bit of piney hops in the background. Itís the same on the palate, the malt base is very toasty, but also caramely and lightly sweet. Thereís moderate earthiness and lightly bitter, piney and citrusy hops to offer complexity and balance to the prominent malt. The beer is medium-plus in weight, medium in carbonation, slightly tangy, and smooth on the palate. Overall, itís pretty standard for the style, but itís a style I like and I definitely enjoyed this one.
a moderately decent red ale, sort of one dimensional with a dry musty hops taste. ive had better. badnewsbeers (2312) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - MAY 28, 2011
bottle from a trade...reddish amber pour with minimal head. aroma of diacetyl and diacetyl and diacetyl...and sugar...nothing else. flavor of some floral hops smothered in theater popcorn butter...gross TheGent (656) - , Massachusetts, USA - DEC 2, 2010
ordered at the Brighton Beer Garden, 12oz bottle poured into a pint glass. So faint redish colored clear beer with think head. The aroma was a punchy sourness like cabbage and citrus hop. Odd but interesting on the smell. The taste was a lil sour to but with an herbal finish. Pretty dam different. I liked it but would not recommend for everyone coolfunnj (374) - Margate City, New Jersey, USA - JUL 23, 2010
aroma is usually a gimme with me but this has one awful smell..like feet covered in vinegar..appearance fine..cloudy brown/red like apple juice off white head and lacing..tastes like maple syrup and lemons sprinkl;ed with pepper, kind of like a cough drop a tingly sick sweet palate that is very unappealing..like rancid apple juice..makes Killianís taste like Moet very unpleasnat and though Im halfway through now may wind up in the drain

a very hoppy red ale with slightly floral aroma. the appearance is cloudy with copper hue. though this brew is rather bitter, it does not feel like a 110 ibu drink. williamherbert (1544) - Syracuse, New York, USA - MAY 9, 2010
The look gives a huge, massive ice cream float head. Very dark cherry red. Slightly hazy but mostly clear. Looks nicely-bodied. Leaves a big spiderweb of lace.
Has a thick amber smell. Roasted malt with a bitter amber aroma. Smells just like a bitter malt.
Taste has bitter malt, but also a sweet cherry/berry sweetness. Nice for an amber, not overly bitter because of the sweet balance. The hops are bitter but only a slight counterpoint. Double bitter.
Feels smooth and has a bit of viscosity; almost a cherry juice feel. A bit dry and leaves a big, bitter film. This is too bitter to knock back all night long, but a good one-off. jtclockwork (16444) - , New Jersey, USA - MAY 2, 2010
Very refreshing, mildly hoppy red ale. I thought this was gem in a normally bland genre. Rated 8/7/08 Leighton (21089) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - APR 6, 2010
Bottle. Pours a deep amber-red with a light khaki head. Nose is huge on the toffee and caramel. Flavor is interesting. I didnít get the sweetness I expected. Some sweet maltiness and caramel, but not much. Very bready. The alcohol is quite perceptible, despite not being terrible high. A bit of raisin and plum, perhaps. Medium in body and somewhat warming. Finish is a little sticky, a little bitter, a little sweet. Interesting. Not totally sure how I feel about this one. Decent, anyway. SSKD814 (854) - Pennsylvania, USA - APR 5, 2010
A- dark amber/red hue to the body with white head that has great retention.
S-Smell is strong fo dark fruits, carmel, and malt. maybe a little bit of hops.
T- this is pretty hoppy. The hops balance with the malt and dark fruit but its hoppiness is comparable to an IPA.
P- moderately heavy body with small amount of carbonation. Nice for a strong ale.
O-this is something definitely worth a try but I donít know if I will order it again. Its decently drinkable.
