Bottle. Dark brown pour with a tan head. Aromas of fig and raisin, molasses, and toasted sugar. Flavor is dark fruits galore with slight booziness. Finish is a little warm from the abv but still long and rich. Very nice. ksurkin (1021) - Norfolk, Virginia, USA - DEC 17, 2009
22oz bottle, 2009 edition, from total wine in norfolk. pours a syrupy, reddish copper with a thin, whispy white head leaving a ring of lace. aroma is very nice and very sweet with notes of toffee malts, red berries, honey, vanilla icing, boozy cognac, and hints of candied pineapple. flavor is surprisingly nice and not nearly as sweet as the aroma with notes of orange citrus, apple cider, and sweet toffee with hints of earthy hops, cherry brandy, and a sweet, malty finish. palate is full bodied and very sticky with some hot booze but not 15.3% hot. overall, a solid bold, fruity barley wine from the legend guys. Pours a dark amber with little head. Has a light aroma, maybe some molasses and malt. Taste is pretty medium bodied with molasses, hops, figs and sweet fruit. Not that much good flavor, it’s pretty abrasive, although given it’s >15 % ABV it hides it reasonably well. HopTsing (575) - Sandston, Virginia, USA - FEB 1, 2013
From the bottled poured a cloudy brown brew with a thin beige head. Malty sweet aroma. Full bodied, very sweet, and a pleasant hoppy finish.

Pours a rich amber with a light tan head and little lacing down the glass. The nose is dominated by sweet caramel malts. Taste is dollops of toffee, a touch of hot alcohol, some caramelised oranges in there as well. Generally very pleasant, though the hangover after polishing off a growler of this stuff was a bitch.

Poured a dark orange, very cloudy and very little head on this one. Aroma is heavy on honey and very syrup-like. Taste is heavy on honey and sweet beerry-like jam. The hops come through quite a bit on the aftertaste after the sweetness mellows out. The dark fruit like plums and raisins are also quite prevalent. This beer is certainly enjoyable, though it’s not overly complex. Could definitely be aged for a good bit. theyshookhands (249) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - JAN 9, 2012
Pours a nice clear black with a tan head that doesn’t exist after the pour. Aroma is of alcohol, roasted malts, notes of fruit and caramel and a little chocolate. Lots of alcohol, strong finish, nice malt presence. Good sipping beer. dpento1 (236) - Virginia, USA - DEC 26, 2010
Pours a hazy, light orange, with a very small, off-white head. A very fruity aroma, with notes of alcohol, malt, and caramel. Feels very smooth with subtle malt notes, and fruit, a mild alcohol slips in there, followed by a bit of warming. Very well put together, I might have to age one!
