Fermented on a California Common yeast at warmer, ale-like temperatures, this strong lagers profile could have been a train wreck if it were not for careful planning. We blend rich malt varieties with crisp, sharp hops for a deft balance. Fruity yeast esters are present up front and lead the way into a warming malt body. The finish is crisp and dry. 7% alc. by vol.

Poured from 22 into a tulip. Beautiful amber liquid with a pillowy white head. Head stays around for a few moments and leaves a lacing behind. Sweet in the nose with a bit of the California Common yeastiness coming through. Flavors of toffee and caramelized sugars. Finishes with a bit of earthiness and a little alcoholic warmth. Overall a rather tasty beverage.

Pours a clear copper orange brown, slight, lasting head. Aroma is is lightly earthy hops, faint caramel accented malts. Malt backbone moves into a pleasantly earthy and slightly minty hop finish. Good balancing bitterness. Havent said this about a Legend beer in a while, but it just struck me as being quite well crafted. Nicely done. Big for a Cali, but within the style.

22 oz Bomber from Tom Leonards This is one of the best beers I seen with a deep clear amber color 1/2 inch white head. Some lacing and good head retention. In the bouquest, a hint of caramel threads together with american hops. You detect toasted grains and balanced caramel malts. I like the balanced bitterness with the sweet caramel malts. This is like a medium body ale with average carbonation. The dry, clean finish has you wanting more. Great overall beer.
