MicroGrog (367) - FT: Stale Polotmavý in Queens, New York, USA - DEC 4, 2012
Cobalt blue 375ml bottle from Astor Wines. Baby Duvel tulip.
Gold, light amber color. Clear, with considerable bits of sediment floating about.
Smell is sweet, sharp, nutty, maple-y, & bitter. Mild all-spice & cinnamon heat.
Taste is very sweet, with a back splash of lime acidity. A touch of caramelization. No real obvious hints at anything very squash-like. Mellow zest of powdered spice. I feel a bit of a sulfite headache coming on.
A bit slick, but an otherwise average body for an American mead.
