UPDATED: JAN 6, 2007 Bottle. Strong hops and malt aroma. Dark yellow color with moderate head. Nice malt flavor that builds to the aftertaste - mild hops. Very nice but not very distinctive. HighlanderOne (1353) - York, SC via NJ, South Carolina, USA - AUG 16, 2003
I had the X-Winter version. Awesome bottle. I don't see what's so 'wintery' about this beer - I would have expected something dark and heavily spiced, but good stuff just the same. Beerdedone (3432) - Croydon, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 21, 2006
UPDATED: APR 27, 2006 Bottle pours golden with a white head. Aroma of sweet malts. Smooth, refreshing, and light. I enjoyed this, easy drinking. heemer77 (5358) - Urbandale, Iowa, USA - DEC 24, 2011
Bottle. Deep polished brass colored brew with a bright white head. The nose is slightly meaty with dough and some hints of lemons. Smells like a decently hoppy pils. The taste is bready and light with some notes of oranges. There is also some hint of hay. This is actually pretty light and refreshing. Pretty good, but not what I was looking for in a winter brew, this is more like a summer one to me, considering the style and the way it tastes. npdempse (934) - St. Petersburg, Florida, USA - MAY 18, 2004
Biscuity malt nose. Straw colored with a slight white head. Tangy flavor, some bready malt, light bitterness.

Bottle. Pours clear pale golden amber with a medium off-white head that mostly dissipates with very nice lacing. Aroma is grain, caramel, honey, grass. Flavor is about the same, medium sweet, light grass/hay bitterness. Medium body, prickly carbonation. Not bad. daniele (9463) - ITALY - DEC 30, 2012

bottle. Clear golden colour with a very creamy white head. Medium- to full-bodied, solid and very pleasant malty background with some spicy aromatic hops that add a touch of bitterness.

Clear golden color with aroma of a macro American pilsner with some coriander in the aroma. Some light maltiness with some honey but overall quite bland and a bit musty.
