gift from John Mays - Thanks! --- Aroma of light malt. Opaque dark brown color, beige head that quickly drops to the rim, a few lace dots. Taste is malt with slight pruning and a little oak that moves through a barely carbonated swallow to a touch of hops in a short finish. Typical Leiney - I can drink it, but don’t know why I would want to. mjmoen (549) - - APR 3, 2016

Appearance: Absolutely stunning beer. Clear deep mahogany/garnet hued body with a firm creamy head on top.
Aroma: Sweet caramel, toasted malts, hints of dark fruits. Strength is moderate. Damn good smelling beer.
Taste: Toast, dark fruits, and caramel are balanced nicely, mildly sweet. Tinge of cereal grains lingers on finish though, corn?
Palate: Light to medium bodied, moderately carbonated.
Overall: I think they used some adjuncts in this, similar lingering flavor I get from PBR for instance. Could be a damn good beer with a little more maltiness, little more body, and all malts.
Oh my. Doppelbock? Now say it like the Donger.... Automobile? Yes this beer is kind of a 16 candle trainwreck. Chaos prevails in the watered down dunkel that is nearly dead when cold and barely alive when allowed to warm. I am afraid of the after affects. decaturstevo (6244) - decatur, Tennessee, USA - MAR 23, 2016
Deep amber pour with lasting head and clinging lace. Aroma is sweet toasty malt and little to no fruit no abv. Flavor is sweet malt, light dried fruit. A sourness and a medium bitter that has a staleness to it. Also slight oxidation. Medium bodied and a tad fizzy. Drinkable but not sure about doppelbock ByTheirLimpin (321) - New York, USA - MAR 22, 2016
Bottle. Brown and amber in the glass. Thin fast head. Fine bubble front beaks to a tin sweet brown make. Finishes corny. Think I’m scared of the after effects. BeerRenter76 (1017) - Texas, USA - MAR 19, 2016
Originally rated on 7/30/08. Big butt pours a dark amber body, with a light tan head, and medium carbonation. Aroma is very light with hints of coffee and caramel. Mouthfeel is kinda watery, not very substancial. Flavor is rather light but chocolate and roasted malts are present, it also had a slight metallic twinge. Overall its too thin, but its not bad and it is drinkable. Dal9000 (639) - Ohio, USA - MAR 19, 2016
In a 12 oz bottle. A musty malty initial taste with a sweetness edge. A quick finish with no lingering taste.
