Bottle poured a deep dark brown hue w/ small frothy tan head and some lacing. Big sweet and licorice aromas. Initial flavor is bold sweet w/ a light bitter finish. Tastes are licorice, dark roast malt, red wine, port, toffee, and coffee. Full bodied, soft carbonation, and a dry tannin finish. kaser (6364) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - DEC 14, 2013
Dark pour from draft at standard. Sweet and coffee aroma. Black and thick pallette. Chocolate notes. Not bad! b3shine (9027) - Indiana, USA - DEC 7, 2013
Draft to taster. Looks solid; a fairly transparent amberish brown with foamy beige head. Smells of dark malt and mild stone fruit. Tastes like it smells with an average mouthfeel. A solid example of the style. esjaygee (3904) - Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA - DEC 1, 2013
Clear mahogany with a tin brown head. Aroma of dark fruits, molasses, licorice, plum, toasted malts and alcohol. Taste of dark fruits, plum, dates, figs and alcohol. Sweet and sticky and I kept expecting it to get better as it warmed but no such luck. These Big Eddy beers all seem so similar to one another. Thankfully I got them as singles… S_Side_Smitty (776) - Lakeland, Florida, USA - OCT 23, 2013
Pours dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma is molasses, chocolate, malts, and alcohol. Taste is initially chocolate and heavy malts. Then comes mild alcohol followed by more malts and something raisin-like. The transitions are quick and end pretty quickly. There’s also some viscocity that makes itself known.

Leinenkugel’s Big Eddy Baltic Porter has a fairly thin, cream-colored head, a murky, red-brown appearance, some visible bubble streams, and thin lacing left behind. The aroma is of licorice candy, dark bread crust, sweetness, and candy sugar. Taste is of black licorice, black bread, sweet, melted hard candy, and a balancing hop bitterness at the end of the sip. Mouthfeel is light and watery, and Leinenkugel’s Big Eddy Baltic Porter finishes wet, rich, flavorful, and delicious. I did not detect alcohol with this. Overall, this is most excellent. 12 0z. bottle. Pours dark brown black with a tight thin creamy looking khaki head that settles to a wispy film and collar. Aroma has some dark pitted fruit and wet cork scents with some fig, raisin and mocha. Taste is more raisin licorice and figs with a strong bitterness and faint bakers chocolate and a little yuk. Palate is medium sticky and meh. cards04 (2834) - Steinbach, Manitoba, CANADA - OCT 6, 2013
Another nice Leinenkugel Beer. They should make more of these....Great bubblegum aromas and flavours. Palate is a bit thin...but it’s a nice boozy and sweet beer. ads135 (4883) - Omaha, Nebraska, USA - OCT 3, 2013
This is an okay baltic porter. Its very rich, but a bit unbalanced in its roastiness. Tastes almost burnt. jrodooo5 (1691) - DOVER, Delaware, USA - SEP 27, 2013
Good pour w/ a very nice aroma but the flavor doesn’t quite match up. It had a cool dark pour w/ reddish hues & a big tan head that slowly fades. The aroma is an enticing blend of toffee & caramel. The flavor is smooth but just not as complex as I hoped. Still a very solid beer overall tho!
