Poured from 12oz bottle, pours brown with a red hue in the light with a thin tan head, looks pretty thin, kind of like a coke or something, I was hoping it would be a little thicker, aroma is of slight chocolate and malt, not a ton really jumps out. The flavor has some roasted malt on the front end but is a little sweeter than I was expecting, some chocolate in the finish but seems a little weak. Not terrible, just not up to the Big Eddy standards I was hoping for. Hophead22 (2879) - Redlands, by way of Wisconsin,, California, USA - MAR 30, 2013
12oz bottle. Rating #95. Pretty damn good beer, nice meld of flavors. It wasn’t quite as thick as I would of personally liked, but a quality effort. (2617) SphinxTX (2875) - Mata Gorda, Texas, USA - NOV 14, 2012
Bottle. Pours dark brown/black with tan head. Aroma is somewhat fruity and alcoholic, some dark roast. Flavor is bold, malty, spicy, some frioty esters, dark roasted grain with a sharp dark roasted bitter. Heavy mouthfeel with high carbonation. Overall, a bit confused. cards04 (2833) - Steinbach, Manitoba, CANADA - OCT 6, 2013
Another nice Leinenkugel Beer. They should make more of these....Great bubblegum aromas and flavours. Palate is a bit thin...but it’s a nice boozy and sweet beer. Indra (2711) - Suburbia, Kansas, USA - FEB 14, 2014
12oz. bottle, 2012 vintage. Some berry jam and dried fruit in the aroma, along with notes of darkly toasted, lightly sweet malts, toffee and some faintly earthy, winey touches in the background. Dark mahogany in color, nearly black, with a very slight, light tan ring head. Flavor profile is gently sweet, fruity and lightly tart, some cherry, prune and faint cocoa, and finishing with a toffeeish, toasty malt presence and faint alcohol. Very low in effervescence on the palate, mildly warming, tannic and coating, and with a full body. Interesting take on the style for sure.

Bottle at a BOSS meeting thanks to Goetz! Pours brown with a creamy tan head. Aroma is toffee and malt. Flavor follows and is much more toffee and caramel than roast. Really nice beer. Not quite a Baltic Porter, but really nice nonetheless. ryanfolty (2584) - Bourbon County, Minnesota, USA - DEC 26, 2012
December 26, 2012 - bottle from Coffee Grounds. Dark brown pour with nice amount of head. Caramel, roasted malt, toffee and dark fruit in the aroma. Taste seemed to be mostly the caramel and dark fruit with a mild alcohol and nutty finish. MIBRomeo (2570) - Wisconsin, USA - SEP 1, 2012
Mahogony colored pour small tan head w/ very little lacing. Aroma is a bit metalic some black malt and a lot of lactose like sugar. Almost over carbonated palate after that it’s pretty thin. Flavor is very light touches of iron and black malt and not much else. Very disappointing. fidelis83 (2482) - Clinton, Iowa, USA - FEB 2, 2015
Black pour with a small, orange-tan head. Aroma is full of dark fruit, reduced fruit juices, dark sugar and pine tar, plenty of dark chocolate and dark caramel in there as well. Flavor is big on roast, molasses, dark fruit, port wine simmered tree fruit, chocolate and toffee nuts, there’s some caramel, earthy grain, licorice, cherry, fig jam and raisin in there as well. Finishes a little tart and lightly metallic, but with lots of dark fruit carrying on. Heavy to medium body, chewy to goopy feel on entry, dry, slightly acidic and metallic-dry, but goopy finish, medium, sharp carbonation. Good stuff overall, but the metallic notes and weird mouthfeel definitely hold it back. I really want to give it a higher score, but the mouthfeel kinda sucks. portableparty (2369) - Blaine, Minnesota, USA - OCT 8, 2013
12 0z. bottle. Pours dark brown black with a tight thin creamy looking khaki head that settles to a wispy film and collar. Aroma has some dark pitted fruit and wet cork scents with some fig, raisin and mocha. Taste is more raisin licorice and figs with a strong bitterness and faint bakers chocolate and a little yuk. Palate is medium sticky and meh.
