The beer pours a clear red color with a moderate, off-white, fluffy head which is mostly diminishing and leaves scattered lace. The nose is spicy, caramelly, some toffee, resinous pine, grapefruit and fig??? The flavor still has some fig, more rustic, still resinous, biscuity, grapefruit, and light pepper. The palate is more than medium, less than lively, velvety, and oily. The finish is long with fig and raisin, dry rustic, some lighter citrus, and a spicy bitterness. A very different IIPA with the dried fruit notes and lack of traditional IPA notes. Nice to try something different but only adequate. PorterPounder (8275) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - OCT 26, 2012
Savannah, Ga - Habersham Beverage Warehouse - 12 oz bottle. Slightly sparkling yet at the same time slightly cloudy medium copper pour with a sticky off-white head. Aroma has a slight spruce twang to it with some floral notes. Bold flavor with the expected bittersweet grapefruit notes, but not overdone. Some slight maple syrup sweetness, a touch of bubble gum. Mouthfeel is thick and sticky, Pretty solid. reggiedunlop (3726) - The dub c, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 22, 2012
Backlog...late 2011/early 2012...bottle...pours clear amber with a medium lt tan head. Aroma has bready/biscuity and caramel maltiness, some fruit, and lits of earthy/piney hops. Flavor is earthy/piney and resinous with some sweet maltiness. Mouthfeel is full and oily with an earthy/piney bitter dry finish. jredmond (8626) - New York, New York, USA - OCT 22, 2012
Bottle before Louis CK, Oct 2012. Pours a clear, reddish amber body with thin off white lacing. Aroma is strong pine and hop resin. Mouthfeel is sticky with notes of bitter pine, resin, citrus, booze and sweet caramel malt. This is a solid IPA, a bit hot but I’d love to try this fresh on draft. gururyan (728) - Stillwater, Oklahoma, USA - OCT 18, 2012
Mouthfeel is a bit oily, pours a clear orange hue, aroma is decent. Not bad, but it's the 9% that saves it.

Bottle. Aroma has notes of pine, citrus, caramel malts, tropical fruits and pine resin. Medium copper amber hue with an average off-white head that stuck around a while and left some lace. Flavor is very sweet and bitter. Palate is full bodied and oily soft with a bitter finish. Overall a nice IIPA and I’m glad I finally got to try it. Would buy some again if the price was right. 12oz bottle - pours deep amber with thin beige head and decent. Nose is vinous and floral. Flavor adds grapefruit, caramel and citrus. Burpy (veggie chili again). Thin for the style and abv. Sticky. Bitter, yes but for a dipa, it is sort of underwhelming. Sweet, yes and it balances the weak bitterness. Some stickiness in back of throat. For the ABV, this tastes way better than malt liquor. blackflag321 (701) - Lansing, Michigan, USA - OCT 12, 2012
Bottle pour into tulip and a second one into a shaker on another day. Medium-dark amber. Full-bodied. Enjoyed the bitterness, but did not enjoy the heavy, caramel syrupiness Where some DIPAs are hop bombs, this one is a malt bomb. jar72404 (426) - USA - OCT 8, 2012
Bottle. Pours good with thin white head. Aroma is simcoe hops and citrus. Flavor is simco and some lemon/grapefruit. Solid but I expect DIPAs to be more interesting than this. (To be fair, I dislike simcoe hops.) Onslow (1527) - Kalamazoo, Michigan, USA - OCT 7, 2012
Pour from a 12 oz bottle. Deep amber brew with dense head. Aroma of caramel malts and citrus, pine, and floral hops. Taste is sweet malts, immediate bitter hops, reassertion of the sweet caramel near the end of the swallow. Ends with a bitter citrus hops finish, some sticky sweetness remaining. Not a unique IPA but very solid, very good.
