Bright orange/amber colored with little head. Very clear. Smells like mandarin oranges, lemon, and citra hops. Tastes tart and sweet and immediately bitter from aggressive hopping. Finishes with sweetness and a dry lingering bitterness hiding behind the noticeable alcohol burn. Flavors of orange, hosp, mint, coriander, and lemon peel. Very complex. Very boozy. Very good. I recommend all beers in the Big Eddy series. Guerde (1297) - Leuven, BELGIUM - JUN 6, 2012
(bottle) Pours a clear dark copper color with a medium cream-colored head. Aroma is potent and punchy, with a big hit of lime juice and zest, kiwi-fruit, grapefruit and slight orange. Little bit of earthiness as well that’s backed by some caramel scents. Flavor is mostly the same as the aroma, with some pale malt sweetness and caramel-coated orange zest starting thing out before yielding to a refreshing zip of lime juice. The lime then yields to a bitter finish of light pine and grapefruit. Mouthfeel is medium and carbonation is a little too spritzy. Overall this is a decent enough go at a IIPA, but it certainly doesn’t warrant the high price by any means. esjaygee (3904) - Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA - JUN 4, 2012
On tap at Romans. Clear copper with a lacy beige crown. Aroma of pine, citrus, resinous hops, malt and some garlic. Taste of orange, citrus, caramel and is a touch too boozy. Bitterness is on the high end and it’s a bit rough around the edges. ApisAles (1575) - Greenbelt, Maryland, USA - MAY 28, 2012
Deep orange pour with a thin white head. Aroma is resin, deep pine and grapefruit. Flavor is almost perfectly balanced between hop bitterness and malt. Caramely but bitter. Sweet but citrus. This beer is great. madvike (3286) - Middleton, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 25, 2012
Bottle - Pours clear rosy amber with a big foamy light tan head. Huge sticky citrus nose, with some pine sap, onion, a touch of sharp booze, and a big bready malt body with a touch of sweetness. Taste is actually pretty smooth and drinkable, while still being bold and sticky. Big dank hops, with onion and garlic, big sweet bread, slick and sticky. Citrus rind and boozy warmth on the finish. Toffee peeking through, along with some pine. Big slick full body with nice carbonation. If macros can pump out beer like this, then...well...I’ll still buy the little guy. But this was still pretty impressive.

Bottle to snifter. Pours clear amber with a quick tight off white head that dissipates to a spotty film and collar. Aroma is off the hook with resinous piny fruity hops and just the right amount of caramel malt in the end. Taste is more bitter resinous piny hops and malt. Palate is full silky slick and sticky awesomeness with a dry finish. Wow this is a top notch Imperial IPA! milljs (2) - Illinois, USA - APR 26, 2012 does not count
Appearance – Brilliantly clear, apricot orange to amber with tight off white foam crown that quickly dissipates. Very little to no carbonation visible in the snifter.
Aroma – Spicy, hoppy, and complex. Hop notes of floral, pine, and citrus. Fresh green wildflowers, pinecones, and tangerine.
Taste –Big complex hops from the aroma come thru on the taste, with more fruit. Resinous, tropical, mango, pineapple….MMMM I love citra hops. But also pine and maybe some hibiscus. Extremely complex hop taste. A floral freshness. But definitely a subtle but present malt sweetness. Honey toast. Also subtle citrus fruit, like a candied orange peel.
Mouthfeel – Medium to full bodied. Creamy and complex
Finish – creamy, bitter, and sweet all at once. Complex but not overwhelming. Delicious and a FANTASTIC Imperial IPA

For a macro beer, very, very good. Out of a bottle, poured a beautiful burnt amber. Firm creamy head. Nice hoppy bitter mouth. A little pricey for a four-pack (around $11 bucks) but worth it. NearABeer (8) - COKATO, Minnesota, USA - NOV 29, 2011 does not count
I have to say i was impressed. Very smooth not to complex. Like all Imperial stout very strong. drawz (10) - Keene, Texas, USA - MAY 10, 2008
Sweet beer with complex hops taste. Hops are of several types giving a slight complex aroma as well. Could use a little more malting to balance out sweetness, but again was a very good beer from this brewery.
