Caramel, actually pretty watered down. Lasting bitterness. Not terribly good. Not balanced at all.
Pours a clear amber with an off-white head. Aroma is pine and light citrus. Medium bitter with a long finish. GreatDane1632 (1169) - North Dakota, USA - JUL 20, 2015
Rated based on notes taken 1 Sep 2012 -- I was pretty surprised, this was a well crafted brew from Leinenkugel’s! Pretty good balance, not quite the West Coast hop bomb that are my favorites, but well done. bb (9241) - Alamo, California, USA - APR 22, 2015
Bottle. Rich amber beer with a dark cream head. Light caramel and grapefruit aroma with pine. Grapefruit and caramel flavor with pine. Medium bodied. Good bitterness. Grapefruit and caramel lingers with pine. dojken (532) - SWEDEN - MAR 7, 2015
Flaska. Syrlig med torkad frukt något vinlik. Doften något svag. Mums i smaken.
Typisk Anerikanska Dipa smaker . Ingen West Coast med vanliga Grape Citron här inte..

I really enjoyed this. Tons of malts and hops that are pretty evenly balanced. Looks beautiful and actually easy to drink the whole four pack. Great stuff. Lemke10 (980) - Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA - FEB 17, 2015
2012 vintage, this pours a semi-cloudy, dark amber color with a slight head. The aroma is fairly sweet which might have happened with the aging. The taste starts fairly sweet and ends with a pine, bitter finish. Very easy drinking. Nero55 (935) - Wisconsin, USA - OCT 12, 2014
Bottle. Deep copper with small beige head. Aroma of resinous hops, malt, and light fruit notes. Medium/heavy body, medium resinous hop bitterness, a nice malt backbone, and a citrus bitter finish. Bulk_Carrier (6065) - Vermont, USA - SEP 21, 2014
Reviewed from notes.
I’m surprised I’ve never said anything on this until now, woops, my bad.
Anyways, poured into a snifter, the appearance was a glossy golden orange color with a one finger white foamy head that quickly died off and leaving barely any lacing.
The smell had a bright citrus aroma with a slight grapefruit edge. Lurking behind is a light presence of dried caramel malts.
The taste was semi-sweet but still carried the normal bitter edge widely accepted amongst most DIPA’s.
On the palate, a long sweet to spicy to bitter grapefruit-esque aftertaste led into a dry finish. This one when fresh is a sipper but as it ages like most DIPA’s, this one shows its gracefulness or lack there of and becomes fairly harsh in about three months time.
Overall, you know this can be a good DIPA if consumed fresh, but though stated 9%, in three months time, it really doesn’t last longer. slowrunner77 (11917) - Reno, Nevada, USA - SEP 11, 2014
"Within its best by date but lacking in fresh hop aroma and flavor. Lots and lots of spice, biscuit and caramel. I’ve really liked the big eddy stout and scotch ale, but this is just bittersweet and under aerate for the style. 1 timer."
