12 oz. bottle. Pour is black with a chocolate ice cream head and very good lacing. The head retention in this is about 4 minutes. Smell is dark roast with a big smoke note with bakers chocolate and a bit of coffee. A touch of booze on the nose. Taste is rich, dark, very smokey and chocolatey. Bittering hop note at the end with a touch of coffee. Much like a smoked porter except bigger, more viscous and complex. Almost like a BBQ stout, very different and very good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap @ Old Chicago, black as sin and a quick dark tan head; aroma of earthy coffee and dark chocolate; lots of coffee up front with a little caramelized malt; little hoppy on the aftertaste; easy going carbonation but a little less body than I would like. Not bad at all but the aftertaste and body keep it from being amazing.

8/16/13 bottle from RW shared with Dan out front. When I scanned it I was surprised it was lenkenkugel. (And feared the worse). However This was a good big beer! poured dark dark black color with delicious chocolate and dark coffee tones. Almost syrupy going down your throat. Overall a really good RIStout. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Sweet, malty, hints of coffee. Alcohol well hidden for a brew with this ABV. A beer to savor. Great to taste the hops with this outstanding stout.

UPDATED: AUG 4, 2009 I ran across this on a trip to get some Kentucky Breakfast stout. Holy crap this is great stuff! Really unexpected coming from Leinenkugels. Aroma is of sweet malts, raisins, and licorice. Taste is thick, complex and sweet. One of the better stouts that I have had.

12 ounce bottle. Pours pitch black with a dark tan head. Aromas of dark chocolate, molasses, coffee and slight bourbon. Flavors of cocoa, espresso, caramel, rum soaked raisins, vanilla and wood. Perfect amount of carbonation and the alcohol is hidden fairly well...incredible.
