Bottle. I’m usually not the biggest fan of most stouts, so one could imagine my surprise by how much I enjoyed this. Pours all black with a dark head. Has a strong aroma of raisins, chocolate, and coffee. Smooth taste, with most of the bite coming in the aftertaste. This is dominated by chocolate, but it has an excellent spicy flavor as well. The taste really lingers for awhile. Very tasty. maneliquor (3514) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - MAY 20, 2012
Bottle. Pours viscous black with a small, dense tanned head. Nose shows the sweetness immediately. Very vanilla and milk chocolate forward. Works well and hides a lot of the roastiness behind its sweet frame. More vanilla in the taste. Damn chocolatey with a touch of salted nuts through it. Vanilla never overwhelms but helps the beer flow. Heavy and creamy mouth feel. Solid stout unclemattie (4406) - Georgia, USA - JUL 13, 2012
Had this about yrs ago. I thought I had rated this one before, must of
lost it somewhere. So here it is again. Vintage 2011. 12oz bottle.Black like dirty crude. Thin brown head. Aroma of tar and licorice. Sweet scent, hints of cocao liquor. Very little carbonation. Rich flavor of roast. Loads of burnt grain character, licorice and chocolate. Its full bodied. Very strong. Pine and coffee bitterness. (3395) Bjshades (156) - Iowa, USA - SEP 13, 2012
Pours a dark black with big light brown head, it’s a big beer with flavors of malt and chocolate, high alcohol flavor takes a little away from this one. Pretty good overall though savnac (2656) - Anchorage, Alaska, USA - JUL 24, 2013
12 oz bottle. Dark brown/black with a small tan head. Aroma of dark roasted malt, bourbon, oak, dark fruit and vanilla. Flavor of dry dark malt, coffee, boozy bourbon and dry oak. Fullish body with a dry mouth feel. Good Imp Stout, very dry and roasty.

Pours a black with a beige head. The nose is warm spices, cake, raisin and date. The pallet is raisin, bitter chocolate and finishes with a balanced bitter hop. Seems like it could age very well.

aroma- strong dark fruit, brown sugar, chocolate, roasty, alcohol.
Tastes similar. Plum, raisin, a little alcohol finish. a bit bitter as well. boxofrane (2559) - Spring City, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 20, 2013
Bottle from Mari’s. I’ll be honest, i’ve avoided this line of beers because of the size of the brewer. No longer! Pours viscous black with a small brown film which dissipates quickly to a few bubbles. A very nice looking stout. The aroma has a lot of milk chocolate and dark chocolate which is interesting. There is a slightly lactic note coming up and there is light booze. The taste is beautiful although not overly complex. There is milk chocolate, a roasted quality, some mocha sweetness. I don’t pick up much of the dark fruit the bottle states. Very good. cstuartj (1020) - Washington, USA - SEP 6, 2013
Pours a obsidian black with a tiny thin head. Great espresso and liquorish nose. Deep burnt sugar and liquorish taste. Clean slow finish. rosenbergh (11957) - Tampere, FINLAND - OCT 7, 2013
12 oz bottle. 2012 vintage. (Riley’s) Madison, WI.
Pitch black colour with a medium size foamy light brown head.
Roasted malt, biscuit, toffee, tiramisù, mild hops and mild berries in an enjoyable and smooth aroma.
The flavour is much edgier. Hoppy bitterness, berries, roasted malt and coffee in the flavour.
Very strong. Warms nicely. My girlfriend insisted me to buy this one. I don’t blame her.
