COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Big Eddy Russian Imperial Stout was brewed at Leinenkugel’s tiny 10th street brewery in Milwaukee. This brew boasts a selection of 11 malts and grains balanced by three different and distinct hops. Dark and complex, with chocolate tones and notes of dark fruits, it is daring yet delicious. Travels well. Ages well.

Pours a black with a beige head. The nose is warm spices, cake, raisin and date. The pallet is raisin, bitter chocolate and finishes with a balanced bitter hop. Seems like it could age very well. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from Mari’s. I’ll be honest, i’ve avoided this line of beers because of the size of the brewer. No longer! Pours viscous black with a small brown film which dissipates quickly to a few bubbles. A very nice looking stout. The aroma has a lot of milk chocolate and dark chocolate which is interesting. There is a slightly lactic note coming up and there is light booze. The taste is beautiful although not overly complex. There is milk chocolate, a roasted quality, some mocha sweetness. I don’t pick up much of the dark fruit the bottle states. Very good.

Pours a obsidian black with a tiny thin head. Great espresso and liquorish nose. Deep burnt sugar and liquorish taste. Clean slow finish.

12 oz bottle. 2012 vintage. (Riley’s) Madison, WI.
Pitch black colour with a medium size foamy light brown head. Roasted malt, biscuit, toffee, tiramisù, mild hops and mild berries in an enjoyable and smooth aroma. The flavour is much edgier. Hoppy bitterness, berries, roasted malt and coffee in the flavour. Very strong. Warms nicely. My girlfriend insisted me to buy this one. I don’t blame her.

Bottle from Kingdom Liquors (Brandon, FL)
Appearance - Oily body, tan head, soapy lacing
Aroma - Milk chocolate, caramel, toffee, orange peel
Taste - Caramel chocolate mocha, dank hops, dark chocolate and coffee finish

After tasting this bold, delicious stout, I’ve learned to appreciate Leinenkugel a little more. This is a back-to-basic, malty-as-hell stout that should get your juices flowing. Cheers!!!

12 oz bottle for 2.79. Pours black with a brown head. Looks nice. Aroma is slight coffee with some chocolate and roasty flavors too. Taste is more fruity, raisin and sweet with a little bit of the chocolate and bitter flavor coming through on the end. Body is a little thicker with an oily texture. This is a pretty decent RIS. Not amazing but definitely way better than the other beers Leinenkugel produces.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Beer Market Jaffa. Thanks DSG. Black with tan head. A little ink, sweet cherry liquor, dark fruit aroma, sweet, chocolate, a little alcoholic taste. Smooth, non-carbonated, full-bodied finish and a little burnt.

On tap at the Twisted Kilt in Myrtle Beach, SC, this pours pitch black with a nice choco-tan head that retains decently, leaving soapy lacing down the glass. The nose is of roasted grain and chocolate. Flavors have lots of toasted grains, chocolate malt, some toffee/caramel, and a nice buttering hop to balance the finish. Silky smooth with soft carbonation, it provides a full-bodied, velvety quaff. Best of this brewery I've had by a country mile. Nice job.
