Draft. Poured a dark brown color with a moderate frothy tan head that lasted with good lacing. Moderate complex roasted sweet malt aroma. Medium body with a sticky texture and flat carbonation. Medium dark sweet flavor with a medium sweet and small alcohol finish of moderate duration. This is a soft beer for style. crossovert (14128) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUL 16, 2013
This was a flat, not very flavorful rye wine. It has that oatmeally rye flavor but it isnt complex in the least. Very mild on the tongue. BVery (11458) - Plymouth, Minnesota, USA - AUG 6, 2013

12 oz. bottle. Pours a clear dark mahogany color with a thin off white head. The aroma and flavor have dark caramel, dark fruits, some spicy rye notes, the alcohol is noticeable but not distracting. I like this one for what it is. Nice drinking rye wine I would be willing to get again. daknole (11048) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - AUG 15, 2013
Dark brown pour, tan head. Lots of caramel and toffee flavors, some well integrated boozy notes, raisins, dates. Nice brew.

Draft sample at Ei8ht Ball. Pours a mostly clear reddish brown amber with a small off white head. Notes of toasted, caramel, and surprisingly big rye malts (late, especially), dark fruits (dates, figs, raisins), brown sugar, cookie, and a little chocolate. Medium-bodied, with a dry, toasty mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. I should clarify that the amount of rye was only surprising not because I’m an idiot and couldn’t read the name, but because they didn’t hold it back at all; it’s very pronounced in the finish and gives it a dry, moderately spicy aftertaste. Interesting beer. DuffMan (10751) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - FEB 25, 2014
Bottle, shared with Parksy and Grippitis. Dark mahogany pour with a coppery luster. Aroma is sweet and malty, with vinous traits. Very sweet, sticky palate, lots of caramel and dark fruits, spicy and vinous nuances, but really just very sweet. Glad I had Parksy and Grippits for this one, as there’s no way I could finish this bottle by myself. cubs (10740) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - JUL 24, 2015
Bottle @ home, found at the back of my parent’s fridge. Dark brown appearance with a fluffy brown head. CIB-style, olive, green tomato, twangy, boozy nose. It smells fucken bad. Rich, goopy, and thick mouth feel. Very sweet, tart fruity, caramel, tannic flavor. More veggies in the mouth. Thick and boozy. Maybe this one has gone downhill. I certainly didn’t intend to keep it for a couple of years but I’d think it’d be fine for the style and being refrigerated the whole time. It’s nasty now, though. Taster on tap at Ei8ht Ball. Mostly clear dark red color. Thin ring of off-white head. Dark fruity malts in the nose. Some spicy rye grains. Moderate sweet taste. Light bit of sweet warmth. Big body, slick finish. Lighter carbonation. OK, but it doesn’t do much for me. Just kind of sweet, very slick. Hides the alcohol well-enough. arminjewell (9727) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - SEP 10, 2013
Pour out of 12 oz bottle, dark reddish brown pour with thin white head, aroma brought notes of big red fruits, dark fruits, hints of oak, rye, slight dark caramel and toffee notes, slight grass, spice. Taste is a mix of sweet red and dark fruits, hints of oak, slight rye, spice notes into some caramel, slight molasses and hints of booze. Pretty tasty.
