Not terrible but this is one style that does not need to be imperialized. Probably my lease favorite of the series. Distinct lager aromas with roasted caramel a hint of earth. Pour was a clear medium brown with a thin off white film for a head. Taste was way too sweet and strong for the style. Mud, caramel and lager yeast with an almost sour sticky finish. Medium carbonation. zeke626 (460) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - SEP 6, 2015
Bottle, pours an amber body with a white head. Aroma of malts and bread. Taste is a typical octoberfest-style beer with a hoppy note. Solid. DrnkMcDermott (3096) - Downers Grove, Illinois, USA - SEP 4, 2015
Tap at Mariano’s, Westchester. Amber Oktoberfest color. The smell is big and malty, but dwindles with the head. The taste has some warming alcohol, a bout of toast and caramel malt. It’s also kind of yeasty, suggesting an unfiltered keg. Caramel roast accounts for some of the sweetness. At least it’s a break from this year’s round of Citra hop monsters. At Great Taste 2015. Lightly sweet, tons of malt, kind of sweet for the style but on the dry side nonetheless. Alcohol seems a little high, both in the flavor and the aroma, and now that I rate it I see it is too high. They got the appearance right, copper color and a nice white head. Sampled at Northgate Andover beer tasting. This is too mild for being 8.5% and billed as "Uber".

clear amber with a small white head. fruity, malty, estery aroma. more fruity than toasty. in typical leinenkugel fashion this beer has a good bit of residual sweetness. the malts are sweet with notes of toast, butter and caramel. fruity, berry-like hop flavors. full body with slightly sticky. sweet and tasty johnnymusky (983) - Minnesota, USA - AUG 16, 2015
Tasty stuff...sample from dusty..i have been pleased with all of the big eddy brews.... bnokk (528) - Lee, Massachusetts, USA - JUL 4, 2015
APPEARANCE ? pours a nice amber, like most US style Oktoberfests.
NOSE - Smells like a lager, not much malt to it ? despite it?s color.
FLAVOR ? the lightest of malt flavors, otherwise pretty unremarkable.

12 oz. bottle pours a clear reddish brown with a small off-white head that leaves some lacing. Aroma is full of caramel and toffee malts, brown sugar, bread and some prunes. Taste is too sweet for my tastes, with no hop presence. Body is medium to full with low carbonation and an oily mouthfeel. The ABV makes this one a sipper. Not one of my favorites in the Big Eddy series. arminjewell (9584) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - MAR 7, 2015
Pour out of 12 oz bottle, reddish brown pour with thin off white head, aroma is toast, dough, grain into a bit of caramel, toffee, slight grass. Taste was a mix of grass, hints of earth, slight toasted bread and dough, slight caramel into some grainy notes, finishing boozy, sweet.
