From tap. Pours clear and golden orange with a small white head. Aroma is toasted malty and light caramelish. Sweet. Toasted malty, caramelish. Light fruity. Sweet and toasted malty finish. crossovert (12959) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - OCT 26, 2014
Draft. Just a poor maerzen. Ultra sweet and sugary. No malt complexity. Pitiful for the style. islay (2775) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - OCT 23, 2014
12 oz. bottle. Malty, fruity aroma with scents of caramel and red grape. Pours a clear brass / copper with moderate effervescence and a small amount of beige head. Looks nice but not outstanding. Sweet, malty taste features flavors of lemon, melon, and muffin. Excessively sweet. Piney and citric (lime, grapefruit) hops. Medium body. Lively, frothy, and silky in the palate. Overall, not very pleasant and not very good. I would classify this as a doppelbock, not an Oktoberfest. Dogbrick (13040) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - OCT 22, 2014
UPDATED: OCT 24, 2014 Sample at GABF 10/03/2014, thanks to my sis for assistance with note-taking. Clear dark amber color with a medium off-white head that recedes steadily. Strings of lacing. Caramel, malt and hops in the nose. Medium body with a slightly boozy character and notes of caramel, grainy malt and slight hops. The finish is sweet with a malty aftertaste. Decent overall. chucklemation (1687) - Royal Oak, Michigan, USA - OCT 20, 2014
Pours an amber/orange with a medium white foam head. Aroma is toasted malts and sweet caramel. Flavor is sweet caramel. Perhaps a touch too sweet, but actually pretty good.

Bottle. Clear amber color with a thin beige head. Aroma is dark fruits and alcohol. Thin body with medium carbonation. Sweet taste that reminds me of plums and cherries; only a hint of hops. I would have liked more bitterness to balance out this sweet beer. Arayaga2 (2198) - portland, Oregon, USA - OCT 17, 2014
Gold with a white head. Aroma is sweet and malty, with caramelized worty notes. Taste is the same, but a lot too sweet, like a soda. $2/12oz zizzybalubba (1870) - Raleigh, North Carolina, USA - OCT 15, 2014
12 oz. bottle from The Hop Yard, Raleigh, NC. Dark brownish-orange pour with a frothy off-white head. Aroma of sweet malt met with an almost cherry-like presence. The taste is a nice balance of sweet caramel and a fruity essence that keeps this from becoming dull. Some moderate alcohol warming. Not a traditional marzen but that is not a bad thing in this case. dfinney23 (3325) - Houston, Texas, USA - OCT 13, 2014
A bigger, badder Oktoberfest, sweet and toasty and boozy. Certainly not traditional but it works. scotchzombie (592) - Raleigh, North Carolina, USA - OCT 13, 2014
Pours clear reddish-orange with a fast dwindling white head. Aroma is bread, caramel malt. Perky in the palate and quite dry. Sweet caramel malts, toasted grains, some dark fruit, even apple. Rides a mild current of booze. Very short with minimal aftertaste. Strong offering but not a top notch 'fest.
