Very very dark, almost black, but still had a hint of brown. I could smell a slight bit of scotch, but it definitely wasn’t too much, and still had the ale scent I expected. I was expecting the "scotch" to be stronger in the taste, and at 9.5% I definitely wasn’t expecting something quite so smooth. Nice mild vanilla aftertaste. I would definitely recommend this one! 12oz bottle: pours a clear deep copper mahogany with a thin-lacing froth of tan head. Has a sweet toasty caramel malty nose with a touch of light fruits and mild peat. Starts with decent fullness and light carbonation with some toasted caramel sweetness and light fruity tartness before a drier earthy finish. Would be better without the tartness, but is still a good attempt at the style. QuezXLV (423) - Virginia, USA - JUL 17, 2012
I really like this style. Had it at dinner at a sushi place. Its sweet and definitely has some weight on the palate. beerdawg (13) - Wisconsin, USA - JUL 17, 2012
Pretty enjoyable Wee Heavy. I loved the color, almost a deep ruby and the aroma was nice. I thought it was a little thin on palate but tasty. Bottle pour seemed to have low/no foam, but draught had a nice creamy foam head. legion242 (2348) - Richardson, Texas, USA - JUL 17, 2012
Poured a deep mahogony with a minimal head. Nose of strong malty goodness that followed in the beer itself. Alcohol to well hidden in this one though ;)

Pours a cola color with a medium head that fizzles out quickly. uhljoseph (66) - TAMPA, Florida, USA - JUL 15, 2012
The aroma is pungent and very malty, layers of chocolate, toffee, and roast with a little bit of smoke and plenty of alcohol.
The flavor is smokier than the aroma but the fruit character is pretty central here, red apple & cherry being the key players. The beer is sweet, with a good bit of toffee & the alcohol is very noticeable.
Sweet and boozy isn’t always my thing, maybe the mood just struck me right, but I very much enjoyed this.
I was surprised at how good this beer was. The place we went to did not know their beers. But this had a great malty taste and smooth finish.

Dark red and brown pour with an off white head. Malty, berry and smoky profile. Pretty good, but could use a little less smoke. jonhall (62) - - JUL 12, 2012
Reddish brown. Some malt some fruits. Opens up after letting it sit for a bit. First impression is that it isn't quite to the level I expected. Still it is pretty good...

Aroma is malts and berries. The flavor is raspberries, medium sweetness and a malty and slightly alcoholic finish.
