Poured beer into glass very cold. Crisp bright taste right off the bat. Drank it slowly so it could warm slightly between sips. As the beer warmed new flavors and aromas came out. A shame it is only seasonal. Rrauth (1196) - North Carolina, USA - JUL 7, 2012
Draft. Brown color. Minimal head. Not much aroma at all. Doesn't appear to be too cold. I taste some dark chocolate. No lacing. Not bad a bad beer from a BMC company.

Bottle. Dark brown and hazy. Nose is musty a slight sweet and malty. Taste is sweet, viscous, sugary, very malty. Not a big fan of sweet beers but this one is not bad. Ibrew2or3 (8814) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - JUL 1, 2012
12oz bottle pours a nice clear deep rutty red – amber with short lived tan head. The aroma offers up a good deal of ripe brown sugar coated cherries, prunes, some earthy dates and a dash of caramel. The taste is bold and a bit on the bright side with a mix of cherries, earthy dates, sweet prune hard candy and then a sugary maltiness as well as a dab of caramel on the side. It smooths out into a sweet finish. A bit of age should allow this to blend and pull up additional yummy complexity. blipp (9691) - La Mesa, California, USA - JUN 30, 2012
Bottle. Copper with an off white head. Deep, rich and malty. Toffee, toasted bread, lighter peaty notes, with light wisps of earthy hoppy notes. Bold and assertive, but not overbearing. A solid sipper, luckily I’m cranking the A-C in my apartment, because it’s over 90F outside. Either way, this is a solid beer regardless of season.

deep amber color. medium bodied with light carbonation. Notes of molasses, dark fruit, and smokiness. A complex and hearty ale. wxman (1848) - O’Fallon, Illinois, USA - JUN 27, 2012
Pours a ruby cola color with a substantial tan head that diminishes rather quickly to a thin cover. Aroma is roasted malt and dried dark fruit. Taste is sweet roasted malt, buttery caramel, molasses and prunes. Some mild tartness at the end. Alcohol well hidden. A little cloying, but well balanced and quite good. berrya785 (441) - Kansas, USA - JUN 27, 2012
On tap on 6/23/12. Pours reddish brown with a nice tan head. Aroma is sweet with caramel, spice, and vanilla. Taste is caramel and whiskey with a little bit of hop bitterness. beerbastard (844) - Mesa, Arizona, USA - JUN 25, 2012
This is the type of beer that makes a great Chirstmas / Winter beer. Its a 100 degrees out, but this is stiil a very good beer. Sweet toffee malts with boozy nose. Syrupy mild sweet flavors of molasses, brown sugars, dark fruits, with a presence of alcohol. Not getting the peat. Good smooth full body. Good job Leinenkugel. 2012 limited release. This beer just rubbed me the right way... I’m pretty sure this is as close to perfect as I’ve been in a long time
