Is so hearty and headstrong you can stick a pencil in it! So take a moment to savor that deep caramel color, the distinctive, creamy taste. Availability: January - March

Ah. the picture reminds me of there old commercials, The beer so thick a pencil will stand in it. Amber color with a thick head of light tan bubbles. Aroma of caramel, toast and pale malt. Well bodied. Mostly malt flavors with a touch of biting hops to keep it honest.

Headbanger (4022) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - MAY 13, 2014
12oz bottle (Old Notes)-Pours a dark amber with a small head. Aroma of caramel, toffee, and malt. Taste of the same with some slight hops coming in. This medium bodied brew is well balanced and a great tasting Bock.

UPDATED: FEB 14, 2006 Starts off okay, has good nose and maltiness, but the finish just left something to be desired in order for me to rate this highly. One of the best Leinie beers made, though.

Gusler (2652) - Tucson, Arizona, USA - OCT 26, 2000
Very nice bock as they go, a little hard to find West of the 'Big Muddy', but well worth the hunt. Strong and robust, hop and malts well balanced and noticeable, fairly high ABV.

Slick (1969) - Thief River Falls, Minnesota, USA - NOV 9, 2002
a well done bock the people at lienie's got it right on the nose with this one good flavor good finish with a slight but not strong after taste a beer that could get addicting

kmeves (1098) - Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin, USA - SEP 14, 2002
Very drinkable and smooth bock. Amber colored which is not typical of the style.

pkbites (1006) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - OCT 27, 2003
One of the best bocks ever made by a macrobrewery. Rich character, nice aroma. And hey, hey: flavorful aftertaste!

VENOM (941) - Connecticut, USA - JUL 5, 2001
Starts off pretty good with a nice roasty maltiness that gives way to a sweet almost caramel candy taste. Thins out and finishes very unflattering. Not bad, just not that good. Wonder what it was like before Miller tapped into them?

hennes (934) - Fountain, Michigan, USA - AUG 16, 2002
A rather silky Bock, well balanced and hearty, though not as robust as some.
