Very nice bock as they go, a little hard to find West of the 'Big Muddy', but well worth the hunt. Strong and robust, hop and malts well balanced and noticeable, fairly high ABV. The Friar99 (223) - Wisconsin, USA - MAY 3, 2001
I liked it a lot. The color is a beautiful wine red when held up to a light. It's very smooth going down and has good flavor. pkbites (1006) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - OCT 27, 2003
One of the best bocks ever made by a macrobrewery. Rich character, nice aroma. And hey, hey: flavorful aftertaste! bipolar1 (268) - Hancock, Michigan, USA - FEB 20, 2001

Ah. the picture reminds me of there old commercials, The beer so thick a pencil will stand in it. Amber color with a thick head of light tan bubbles. Aroma of caramel, toast and pale malt. Well bodied. Mostly malt flavors with a touch of biting hops to keep it honest. lil-dabz99 (54) - Lake Linden, Michigan, USA - FEB 13, 2001
