COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In 1906, the Kolsch-style beer originated from the Cologne region of Germany as a crisp and light beer to combat the summer heat. Leinenkugel’s® Canoe Paddler™ is our take on the Kolsch-style beer that we tweaked with a touch of rye. Our spring and summer seasonal has subtle malt flavors, a clean finish and adventurous quality.

Bosco (351) - Boca Raton, Florida, USA - MAY 1, 2015
Clear lemon yellow with thin whispy head and lacing. Missing the bitter kick I was hoping to get from the rye. Otherwise not very complex with a sweet finish. $9.99/multi sixer at Wegmans Leesburg VA

Bottle into a larger glass. Pour is a light golden color. Aroma is low but sweet malts. Taste is rich and smooth. Finish is crisp and clean.

Strykzone (7659) - Wood River, Illinois, USA - APR 4, 2015
Pint at Joe’s Pizza in Edwardsville. Very clear golden with only a little foam on top. Grassy with soft fruit. A tiny honey flavor at the finish. Soft malts and lemon.

Draft. Golden pout. This isn’t a koelsch. It is a very fruity golden ale that is pleasant enough.

Good. Not overly impressed but good. I like the light rye finish. Would probably be better cold (drinking room temp) ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

ajnepple (7059) - Denver, Colorado, USA - MAR 11, 2015
12 oz bottle into a pint glass. Gold and clear appearance with active carbonation and a lingering off-white head. Mild aroma of pale malts, light floral/spicy hops and a touch of rye. Pretty bland flavor, not much going on. Light bodied. Not good.

tectactoe (3125) - Michigan, USA - FEB 6, 2015
Bottle: Hazy, pale pear skin color with a bright white head that fizzes out in just a few moments. Very light aroma. Some hay, lemon zest, must, mineral water, & mild metallic earthiness. Mild grains. Flavor is the same, pretty light but a little more amplified. Citrus zest, grass, cereal grains, hay, & a slightly metallic finish. Mostly dry, modestly toasted cracker malts lingering. Very small hint of earth. Very vapid, but not terrible I guess.

(Rating #6039)

Light, crips, refreshing. This beer has just enough backbone to support the light alcohol. Very crips and refreshing. A good summer beer.
