In 1906, the Kolsch-style beer originated from the Cologne region of Germany as a crisp and light beer to combat the summer heat. Leinenkugel’s® Canoe Paddler™ is our take on the Kolsch-style beer that we tweaked with a touch of rye. Our spring and summer seasonal has subtle malt flavors, a clean finish and adventurous quality.

12oz bottle, pours a light yellow crystal clear. Small white head that disappears quickly. Light aroma, slight flavor of fruit, I didn’t pick up the rye. Light body, low bitterness, great summer brew that is easy drinking session beer.

UPDATED: MAR 19, 2018 Best American lager from the big breweries ever. Spotted Cow is better, but not by much. Great clear straw color, fine carbonation and head. Wonderful light malty taste with a good finish.

Clear bright golden with a thin white foamy top. Malty Blonde crackery nose. Smooth but full and flavorful body that’s German blonde malts with a little biscuit and a kiss of rye bready spiciness. Flavorful and crisp yet light. Suprisingly delightful.

Doesn't claim to be anything more than a nice beer for a hot summer day and it fits that bill very nicely. Not something we would sit around and talk about because really there not much to say after you open the bottle, take a drink, and say to yourself, "Yup, that's a beer. I think I'll have another."

Agreed with many previous reviews. Its just bland and simple overall. for the price tag its not worth getting. leinies original is better. this is clean but that’s about it.

Bottle pours clear golden with a small, fading white head. Aroma is bland, white bread, simple syrup, slight hay. Flavor is little but sweet pale malt. Light, crisp but meh city. Might as well have come from Meh-xico. This be gahhb

BeerInHeaven (520) - Brillion, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 26, 2017
pours a lightly cloudy straw gold with a decent medium white head. Pretty good head retention. Aroma of hay, grass, maybe a hint of spice. The taste is clean with just a hint of spiciness. I can taste the faint hints of rye. Quick finish. Clean and refreshing. I can pound quite a few of these on a hot summer day.

Plain! Nothing offensive going on here but absolutely boring! Average pour, weak aroma, & bland taste which is pretty typical of the style. Not good!

arn8897 (460) - Trenton, Ohio, USA - APR 29, 2017
Pours a clear golden color with a white head. Light Aromas of hops. Light crisp taste with a clean finish. No lacing in the glass. Thin mouth feel. Not bad but nothing special.
