COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In 1906, the Kolsch-style beer originated from the Cologne region of Germany as a crisp and light beer to combat the summer heat. Leinenkugel’s® Canoe Paddler™ is our take on the Kolsch-style beer that we tweaked with a touch of rye. Our spring and summer seasonal has subtle malt flavors, a clean finish and adventurous quality.

Another permutation from MIller/Leinenkugels. This one is a bit lighter than their regular lager, but has the same grapefruit notes from their standard yeast strain and is not an ale and not a Kölsch. Just another low quality beer at a premium price. If you like Leinies original, you will like this one, otherwise don´t waste your time. Miller/Leinenkugels continues to give you artificial flavors and colors added to their original lager as they expand their product range instead of trying to brew a decent beer.

pours a lightly cloudy straw gold with a decent medium white head. Pretty good head retention. Aroma of hay, grass, maybe a hint of spice. The taste is clean with just a hint of spiciness. I can taste the faint hints of rye. Quick finish. Clean and refreshing. I can pound quite a few of these on a hot summer day.

Plain! Nothing offensive going on here but absolutely boring! Average pour, weak aroma, & bland taste which is pretty typical of the style. Not good!

arn8897 (389) - Trenton, Ohio, USA - APR 29, 2017
Pours a clear golden color with a white head. Light Aromas of hops. Light crisp taste with a clean finish. No lacing in the glass. Thin mouth feel. Not bad but nothing special.

OMG this doesn’t taste like an IPA or Imperial Stout. Therefore it’s lacks flavor. Sometimes you drink a beer simply because it is crisp and refreshing. This is good for that.

raymow (1602) - Bensalem, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 23, 2017
bottled - clear yellow in color. Light, crisp and refreshing but also nothing special. A good summer afternoon beer.

JPDIPSO (6216) - Wauwatosa, USA - APR 3, 2017
Straw color with a diminished white head. Scents are muted, with some floral and flour scents. Some light honey and simple sugar aromas as well. Grain and pale malt start. A bit of bitterness and spice noted from the rye. A bit acidic/metallic. A lawn mower/canoe paddling brew at best. 2/13

LowBrau (136) - Tonawanda, New York, USA - MAR 23, 2017
Clear, medium gold, thin white head. Malty but bright. Balanced tastes, a tiny bit heavy for a kolsch. Not picking up much spiciness from the rye. Good, but nothing that really stands out.

milewide (2219) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - MAR 21, 2017
Bland, per the style. Clear golden color. Modest head. Couldn’t pick up the rye. Not much hop contribution.

Carlisle (732) - Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 17, 2017
Draft. Pours gold with thin off-white head. Grass and light bread flavors with a touch of spiciness. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

zombywoof (467) - Overland Park, Kansas, USA - MAR 15, 2017
Pretty weak although I should be grateful that it’s not one of those awful beers that Leinie likes putting out these days, crappy fruit beers and shandies. Not much to offend here but not much flavor either.
