A 100 percent malted lager, “Leinie’s Classic” features Leinenkugel’s own unique blend of two-row and six-row malts and four varieties of hops. A blend of Pale, Caramel, and Munich malts offer a complex flavor, with four different hops (Cluster, Cascade, Mt. Hood, and Hallertau) to balance the malts. Acknowledging their German heritage, Leinenkugel’s brewed Classic Amber in Reinheitsgebot tradition, where the only ingredients permitted are malts, water, hops, and yeast.

Smells of caramel and hops upon opening. Pours a sort of thick head, dark gold in color. I found it to be very refreshing, would be very easy to drink this beer in hot weather. Goes great with spicy/zesty foods. As a liney’s fan, i would say this is this premium version of the Linenkugels Original.

Pours a lightly cloudy golden body with an enormous frothy off-white head. Long lasting head retention and considerable carbonation. Malty aroma.

Classic Amber comes out of the bottle a lightly burnt-orange color akin to the label on the bottle. A fizzy white head makes a lot of noise, then disappears before you know what happened to it. At first whiff I caught the fruitiness of green apples; the second time around I definitely was picking up more toasted barley, as well as wheat bread, walnuts, and a certain skunkiness I couldn’t quite define. I have to mention the mouthfeel, because I’ve been assaulted with fizziness. This is just tiptoeing the edge of painful. The taste starts with a subtle red apple sweetness. No hops to speak of in either smell or taste. In fact, little malts to speak of either. Sort of like drinking a watered-down sparkling apple cider, except with a dry finish. Not bad, per se--just not in any way memorable.

"yeah....pppphhffffftttt! this is the type of amber that makes beer people not like ambers. not offensive, just boring - light in body, color, flavor, and aroma. malt heavy and a little refreshing, but below avg."

TXBadger (2811) - Dallas, Texas, USA - JUN 5, 2014
Pours a nice clear amber color with white head. Caramel malt, toast, and some citrus on the nose; follows onto the palate.

Bulk_Carrier (6065) - Vermont, USA - MAR 23, 2014
Reviewed from notes.
The appearance had a golden yellow body gave a small one finger white fizzy head. Minimal lacing was left with some rings around the glass. Fast rising carbonation was seen.
The smell was basicly hops and malts, nothing special and nothing that stood out as amazing.
The was pretty much the same.
The palate was about a light to medium with moderate carbonation felt.
Overall, this is a mediocre beer. Nothing stood out to say I need to have this again immediately.

12/25/2009. From bottle. Golden yellow with a white head. Corn aromas with hay, not much in terms of flavors... grass and hay with little hops. Bland and boring.

Underwhelming. Even for an amber. Nice body, though. Bready malts, some mild sweetness.

ROGUE (2216) - Lewes, Delaware, USA - SEP 18, 2013
12oz bottle. Pours a pale crystal clear amber color with a large off white head. Aroma of mildly sweet light toasted malt character with a bit of citrus hops. Flavor is some sweet malts divide with a touch of herbal and citrus hops. Medium body, light carbonation.
