Not as dreadful as I’d anticipated. The roasted malt comes through well enough, but a flat bitterness lent by the hops (extract?) and a distracting metallic note kills any significant pleasantness.
The aroma is roast malt and dark chocolate. Dark brown in color with a minimal sized head. Lightly sweet flavor of chocolate, cocoa, and coffee. Medium body with a very smooth, moderately creamy texture. StoutBeerReviews (241) - Kenosha, Wisconsin, USA - OCT 31, 2017
the fuck, how is this an amber , it literally says dark lager on the bottle. felsenpils (183) - Sacramento, California, USA - OCT 4, 2017
12 ounce brown bottle with a twist-off crown. Pours a deep mahogany brown with an off-white head. The carbonation is very lively. The aroma is clean with just a hint of roasted malt character. The flavor is quite light for such a dark beer with a rather strange aftertaste which on the label says "smooth cocoa", but reminds me more of molasses. Easy drinking and refreshing, this is one of Leinenkugel´s better beers. This tastes exactly the same as their Bavarian Dunkel just without the added fruit juices. Sample. Low fluffy white lasting head. Clear yellow golden body. Mild herbal aroma. Odd herbal flavor with little hops bitterness and a short finish. HuskerTan (2398) - Ravenna, Nebraska, USA - OCT 20, 2016
A- Caramel, malty, toast.
A- Red brown color, clear liquid, tan head.
T- Toasted caramel, malty.
P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, malty finish.
O- Shocked by how much I enjoyed this considering it’s an Amber Lager from Leinenkugel. Very easy to drink and balanced. Nice blend of bitterness and maltiness and full of toasted caramel notes. Not bad at all.

Bottle in La Crosse, WI. Slightly toasty aroma with faint hazelnut and red fruit. Clear, dark mahogany under a thin, off-white collar and patch. Sweet, buttery nutty flavor that quickly dries out with a slight carbonic bite. Flavorful yet delicate and well balanced. Medium light body, medium carbonation, crisp. Pours a dark brown with a thin white head. Aroma is caramel, toffee, some roast, and earthy hops. Flavor has a metallic tinge to it, with toffee and caramel dominant, along with some earthy hops. Has a very low bitterness and a thin body. Decent. chinchill (5318) - South Carolina, USA - FEB 2, 2016
12 oz bottle poured in pint glass. (from notes)
A - fine looking, mahogany color; clear. Nice off-white head but too short lived.
S - like the taste, main aroma is toasted malts
T - no flaws, yet not an exceptional brew worthy of strong recommendation. Minimal hop presence. malty aftertaste.
M - smooth and, as advertised, a bit creamy. drsordr (2867) - Loveland, Ohio, USA - DEC 31, 2015
Draft pour opaque dark brown with thin tan head. Nose light roast, toffee, caramel. Taste slightly mineral, some mild roast and toffee. Light bitter finish. Looks nice but very thin and watery.
