A traditional Marzen brewed with 2-Row Pale, Caramel, and Munich malts. The malts give it a hearty character and deep amber color. Tettnanger and Perle hops provide a well-balanced, drinkable finish prefect for Fall celebrations.

Poured into a tulip glass. Fairly light amber color, finger of head that was quickly gone to nothing. Smells like wet hay that did not quite make it into the barn before the rain and was then left out in the sun for a couple days. I am familiar with the smell but not from my beer. Kind of tastes like a adjunct lager with an extra dash of barley. So if this was an adjunct lager it would have incredible flavor... but it is not. It is lacking in the maltiness of a Marzen. It has a light body and is very carbonated. Overall a poor attempt of the great Marzen style. Drink it if you want a more flavorful adjunct lager with a high level of carbonation.

12 ounce bottle. Not much of a aroma. Does smell a little sweet. Deep straw in color. Very smooth on the palate. I like the malt in this beer. Overall one of my more favorite octoberfest’s.

From the bottle. Weak aroma. Polished copper color with minimal head. Good carbonation. Light malt flavor that is quickly overcome by hops. Somewhat thin mouthfeel but no lingering aftertaste.

Bottle sample at the "Farewell to Vova Shack" tasting at Stas’s place. Thanks Stas. Deep golden. Aroma of malt, oxidized, cardboard, metal, a bit of caramel. Sweetish flavor with malt, a bit of caramel, a bit of oxidation, metal, and a slightly bitterish finish. Light-bodied.

Can on Southwest flight ECP-HOU for Thanksgiving in Dallas. Middle of the road fest beer. Sweeter malt with light bitterness. It gets a little more flavorful as it warms. Okay.

If you must partake in a Leinie Oktoberfest, try to find it on tap rather than in a bottle. While neither has an especially distinctive aroma, the draft version is smoother and sweeter while the bottled variety is thin and bitter. To be honest, neither is memorable but at least the tapper is bearable.
