3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Beautiful ruby amber with a white head. More malt forward. Just a bit of earthy hops. Sweet.
From Sept 2008
This just showed up today in Casper.
A clear sparkling orange amber colour with a small head of foam that shrinks quickly to some spotting and a ring around the glass. Some lacing.
The smell light notes of caramel and grain and a rather strong metallic nose. This doesn't bode too well unless the taste kicks in with some good flavour.
The taste has notes of caramel, bread, a bit of fruitiness, and a touch of lemon hop bitterness and I do mean just a touch, but I wasn't really looking for any so it's cool. Ok, the finish gets a little bitter and in not that good a way so this one is not doing much for me in my current search for Oktoberfests.
The mouthfeel is light but slick on the tongue and the carbonation is mediumish.
Well, first of the style to show up in town and actually, the first time the Leinie's has shown up here and..I don't find it to be a well rounded brew...no symphany of flavours here. Too bad. ;^( arn8897 (461) - Trenton, Ohio, USA - NOV 5, 2017
UPDATED: NOV 5, 2017 Pours a clean copper with a white head. Aromas of malt and caramel. Taste is the same but somewhat muted. Nothing special. nohopspleez (100) - Georgia, USA - NOV 4, 2017
UPDATED: MAR 13, 2018 very nice Octoberfest from our friends in Chippewa Falls, WI. Wonderful, good mix of malt and hops - without an overload of the hops - thankfully!!!!!! they use GMO in their beer......... no thanks.
update - tried a few more and noticed an exceptionally BAD aftertaste. Are they using a new hops?? Doubtful. Are their GMO ingredients acting up?? Possibly. It is a distinct "mineral" taste, as if they used water out of a granite quarry or something. I tried to taste past it, but to no avail. Bad. It reminds of tasting this brew a few years ago. It had a distinct "spicy" aftertaste, as if they had added some nutmeg or something. I dont drink beer for "nutmeg". yuck.......... Their usual smoothness is appreciated, but this aftertaste issue over the last few years and the GMO are strike 2 and 3. You are out. hershiser2 (4043) - Charlottesville, Virginia, USA - NOV 4, 2017
Bottle from Walhole. Pours clear amber with a small off-white head. Aroma is caramel candy and little else. Flavor is horrible toffee/caramel - those plastic-wrapped rectangles you would get back in the 80s on Halloween. This is no Oktoberfest. This doesn't even taste like a beer. Yuck. basaywhat (314) - Macomb, Illinois, USA - OCT 25, 2017
12 oz bottle. Pours a copper orange with a small white head, caramel and malt taste with a little hop bitterness. A little thin and overall not a great Oktoberfest style beer.

UPDATED: OCT 8, 2017 Draught pint from booth at Ford Field near Section 328.
Pours an filtered medium to dark red brown with head that lasts to end with excellent lacing.
Smells malty and slightly sweet with a hint of spice.
Taste is similar. No real hop bitterness. Some spice, but a little bland.
Medium body with next to no aftertaste (slight bitterness). Great carbonation.
Overall I was very happy with the brew. Easy drinking, quality ingredients. Would buy again. MB. The Beer 'Bear'on. mike67 (1326) - , New Jersey, USA - OCT 6, 2017
12 oz bottle. Pours amber with tall, long-lasting, fluffy white head and lively carbonation. Aroma is of grassy hops and bready malt. Body is medium and crisp. Grassy hops and biscuit malt fill the mouth. Finish is medium and dry. Ok brew. Bacchus66 (1207) - South Carolina, USA - OCT 1, 2017
Tap, ADT. Clear dark gold with a foamy white head. Very mild aroma and flavor, some light spice and pale malt. Medium carbonation. Overall the body is a little thin with not much depth of flavor. Nice label though. higgsbison (275) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - SEP 24, 2017
Highly carbonated. No malt backbone like you would expect from an Oktoberfest. No bitterness at all. A poor representation of the style. And a sad beer in general.
