Slightly artificial vanilla in the nose and the taste. Dark brown pour. This is a porter best served cold. It’s not bad, but it’s also not great. I prefer their creamy dark to this version.

smoky and malt nose. dark brown color with nice red highlights. taste is very smoky with malt and coffee notes. The aftertaste is a bit unpleasant. I think this is a one off.

Bottle - 12oz. Pours an opaque, very dark brown body with an average beige foamy head. Good, well balanced malty/hoppy aroma with roasty, vanilla, and chocolate hints. Taste is slightly dominated by malty flavors. It carries vanilla, chocolate, and some subtle woody and plummy notes. Texture is smooth. Ends with a decent bittersweet finish. Enjoyable.

UPDATED: FEB 2, 2014 Growler filled at Pecos in Wilmington DE. Nice vanilla nut aroma. Good lookin stout black with thick tan head. I taste vanilla with cherry, nut, sarsaparilla, licorice, toffee. Porter character emerges as it warms. Good stuff, and easily the best that I’ve tried from Leinenkugels.

I was surprised to find this to be a really good beer. It tastes just as good as the Breckenridge Vanilla Porter. I will have another

Dark beer with a slight amber hue. Aroma is neutral, somewhat metallic. Mouthfeel is very smooth, just a hint of bitter fizzy. Tastes like molasses, malty, and vanilla. Good beer.

Aroma: Smoke and spruce fairly faint. Appearance: Dark brown blood red tinges in light light tan head. Taste: Highly smokey almost like a good cigar notes of coffee and chocolate yet oddly almost no Vanilla. Palate: Thick less than average carbonation. Overall: while far above compliant it is just not very "Vanilla Porter" I got this expecting sweetness with some hops a nice finish to a meal and i did not get anything of the sort. perhaps I was to harsh as I have has a few Vanilla Porters and this one is just while by no means bad not even merely average, It is damn good it just feels more "Smoked black Porter" than "Vanilla Porter" kind and that is of like getting Death Metal when you wanted Smooth Jazz.

A pretty straightforward porter with vanilla character. A bit thin, but definitely has drinkibility.

Pours a barely translucent chocolate brown with a nice light tan head. Aroma has notes of roast malt, coffee, caramel and vanilla. Flavor is mainly caramel and vanilla, rather sweet. Mouthfeel is a bit thin and not too fizzy. OK if not outstanding.
