Tap. Pours dark brown with creamy beige head. Aroma is light vanilla, roasted malts, light earthy notes, and plums. Flavor is dry malts, some vanilla and dark fruit sweetness, and light ash; thin throughout with a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation.

Pours and looks like flat coke. Feels a bit "gritty" on my tongue. Overall, a bit disappointing considering the brewer. Too bad there are five more bottles to go.

Dark brown pour, small tan topper. Blunted roast aroma. Vanilla with hints of burnt coffee. Taste comes through a bit crisper. Vanilla and chocolate on a soft roasted backbone. A bit thin for a porter but pleasant enough.

Very dark amber pour with thin off white head. Clear. Aroma is weak, with roasted malts and burnt coffee. Taste is solid. Smooth, vanilla with roast malt. Kind of a thin porter, not quite as robust as the better versions of this style. Mouthfeel is light and a bit fizzy. Finish is not long. Okay.

Clear black with a thin foamy light beige head. Nose is a little toasty with a bit of caramel and dark cocoa roastiness. Flavor is lightly roasty with lots of caramel and a light touch of cocoa and a faint kiss of coffee. Mostly roasted earthy sweet caramel. Medium body with nice roasty dessert-y sweetness.

12oz bottle into shaker. Pours clear deep red-brown with a finger of tan head that quickly collapses leaving minimal lacing. Aroma limps in with vanilla, coffee, roasted malt, and a touch of cocoa. Flavors follow the nose with medium vanilla sweetness and a light hop bitterness cutting through the maltiness. Medium-light bodied, with a thin texture, average carbonation, and a bit of an astringent finish.

Bif (2246) - St. Charles, Missouri, USA - NOV 30, 2013
Pours a dark brown with a fair tan head that fades to spoty bits of lacing. Aroma is mostly vanilla, backed by some chocolate and maybe a bit of malt in the background. Taste of vanilla, some chocolate, bit of coffee and malt. Has a slight bitterness and afinish that is quite dry. Fairly medium body, smooth, silky texture. Nice offering for the style.

Bottle to glass at room temp. Dark brown with a small brown head. Chocolate aroma with a chocolate & vanilla taste. A bit thin and metallic finish.

Dark color and silky head. However, not much in the way of aroma or flavor. I prefer a full-bodied porter but this is very light and bland.

On tap. Nice aroma and a nice looking beer. Dark in color with a fast vanishing head. Taste is vanilla with a touch of spice. Palate is a little weak. Really the only thing holding it back.
