Bottle. Pours, looks and smells like a porter. There’s a definite vanilla essence in the aroma, and an evenly tilted vanilla swirl in the flavor, too. Not bad. (#5339, 11/23/2013) penguinfinity (107) - North Carolina, USA - NOV 23, 2013
Bottle. Smells mildly like vanilla and the taste follows. Pours copper dark, looks like a Coke in the glass. Taste isn’t very complex at all though, but it’s a nice holiday sipping beer. BackyardDogs (41) - South Carolina, USA - NOV 22, 2013
Bottle, pretty decent. I like the vanilla. Porter is just ok but not bad for the price.

Smells a lot less of vanilla than I hoped. There is a heavier yeast aroma than anything else. Pours very dark with a minimal head. Not as heavy on the tongue as it appears it will be. The vanilla flavor is also a little more subdued than I hoped, but it balances the malts nicely. I prefer a drier porter, so take this review with a grain of salt. It's nice for what it is, but I've had better. orlando15767 (7) - - NOV 21, 2013 does not count

The aroma of the beer is subtle, blending vanilla and roasted malts, and the appearance combines a reddish brown color with a medium light head that diminishes quickly. The taste is mildly sweet yet quite umami, which is a nice blend; furthermore, the palate’s fairly complementary due to the oily texture, medium body, soft carbonation, and a long yet muted extension of the flavor. This beer has a flavor which develops slowly and in distinctive waves. The beer is smooth at first, with a subdued vanilla. It imparts some body on its way down. Then the roastiness kicks in. I love the finish. Very drinkable in the Leinenkugels style. SSSteve (4006) - - NOV 20, 2013
bottle. black with ruby highlights and stable, whipped tan head. some roasted notes in aroma. flavor has some roasty notes with milk chocolate. vanilla is very light. full bodied and creamy. some other notes of caramel. solid. kdm1984 (814) - Missouri, USA - NOV 20, 2013
Vanilla aroma with some chocolate malt in the background. Taste follows suit, but mostly vanilla. Watery palate as usual with Leinenkugel’s. Actually was a little better than I expected overall, though. Easy and pleasant enough to drink. BVukelich (37) - Algona, Washington, USA - NOV 19, 2013
Bottle to pint glass. My wife actually picked this one up looking to try something new and mild for herself. She’s not a hophead and was willing to share it with me. Not much of a head nor any decent lace left behind. The vanilla is apparent, decent aroma. Taste was fine, sort of reminding me of root beer with less carbonation. Mouthfeel was good and aftertaste didn’t linger much. Overall, I fine beer and I could drink a handful, no problem.
