Pours a dark chocolate with a cream colored head. Scent has a bit of roasted malts mixed with chocolate and vanilla. The flavor follows suit. Fairly sweet upfront, the vanilla definitely comes in to play, but not overwhelmingly so and gives way to some pleasant roasted bitterness. Medium bodied. Quite a tasty brew, one that I’ll most likely revisit. cmonster (1000) - Portland, Oregon, USA - DEC 19, 2012
Bottled. Pours dark brown with amber hues. Good sized head. Big vanilla and milk chocolate aroma. Keyword: sweet. Flavor profile matches the nose plus a light roast. Medium body, creamy texture, and a vanilla-malty sweet finish. Honestly, this is just as I expected and I’m quite pleased. Lightly roasted, heavy vanilla-d porter-brown ale. 12oz bottle with a twist-off cap, thanks to Greg. Best by 2/11/13. Dark clear brown / red color. Thin light brown head. Little loose dots of lace. Sweet taste. Lighter carbonation. Medium body. Kind of a sticky aftertaste. Vanilla extract aroma, caramel, not much portery goodness to back it up. OK, but I’m not a fan of this Headbanger (4021) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - DEC 18, 2012
16oz draft 12/18/12 (The Town)-Pours a dark brown/light black with a light tan head. Aroma of vanilla, roasted malt, and chocolate. Taste of vanilla, chocolate, coffee, and malt. This medium bodied brew is well balanced and quite tasty. A bit light but still good. chinchill (5312) - South Carolina, USA - DEC 18, 2012
2012 12 oz bottle with a 2013 date on the neck. Pours a clear, dark reddish-brown with a small but durable tan head.
Good (restrained) level of vanilla, although rather pronounced mid-taste. Excellent, malty/nutty aftertaste. Good sweet/bitter balance. Medium+ body with lively, moderate carbonation.
O: This excellent seasonal was a pleasant surprise. Perhaps my favorite Leinie.

12oz screwtop bottle. Pours dark brown with a creamy tan head. Expected much worse based on other Leinys but this wasn’t half bad. A bit on the thin side but a nice looking beer and the taste was pretty good. The vanilla was subtle, also had notes of coffee and dark chocolate. Bottle purchased at Kroger in Gahanna. Clear brown pour with a medium tan head. Malty nose with chocolate, caramel and a bit of mustiness. Malty flavor with vanilla and some chocolate. hopdog (13102) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 17, 2012
12oz bottle. Poured a brown color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of roast, burnt and charred grains, and some coffee grounds. Tastes of vanilla, chocolate, and lighter roast. GTAEgeek (2411) - Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA - DEC 16, 2012
12 oz. bottle. Dark, nearly opaque, brown with a small, tan head. Butterscotch, burnt toast, and syrupy notes. Sweet up front, with roasty bitterness in the finish. Medium body, sticky, and a little grainy. Overall, this a lackluster porter; not unpleasant, but it lacks complexity and has a weak flavor and mouthfeel.
