Bottle. Grabbed these after work at the Jewel (only place open selling beer besides the 7-11 and gas station at 10:45 Sunday night). Deep brownish-black pour, off-white head with surprisingly nice retention. Nose is puffed wheat, malt syrup, vanilla extract, Heath Bar. Mouth is kind of watery, malt, toasted bread, cocoa puffs, touch of vanilla. Actually better than I expected. $7.99 for a sixer made this a decent value purchase. deekyn (1459) - San Francisco, California, USA - DEC 26, 2013
A - pours dark brown with low head. S - this smells like a coconut macaroon! Toasted coconut, milk chocolate, wet oak, espresso, and toasted malts. M - light medium body. Watery but oh so deserty. Lingering amazing sweet but not overpowering end. T - toasted malts, espresso, vanilla, raw cacao, wet oak, carob, toasted coconut. O - sweet porter. Drinkable and mellow. 3.3 mmmbeer (1433) - Austin, Texas, USA - JAN 5, 2014
12 oz. bottle served in shaker- poured a transparent darkened maroon when held to the outdoor light source. One finger head disappeared as I lit up to a thin ring round the glass. Aroma of bourbon (how the hell did that get in there?), vanilla, caramel, cinnamon, and a hint of maple wood waiting to be put in the fire. Hits the mouth with a medium body, very light considering the style, some vanilla from the start with coffee pairing it at the start, holds up well in the middle, finish does get a little watery. It’ll do for watching my Packers whoop some Cali ass- GO PACK GO! HighlanderOne (1396) - York, SC via NJ, South Carolina, USA - FEB 1, 2014
UPDATED: FEB 2, 2014 Growler filled at Pecos in Wilmington DE. Nice vanilla nut aroma. Good lookin stout black with thick tan head. I taste vanilla with cherry, nut, sarsaparilla, licorice, toffee. Porter character emerges as it warms. Good stuff, and easily the best that I’ve tried from Leinenkugels. ccex (1391) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - NOV 29, 2012
12 oz bottle pours a dark brown with small tan head but little lacing. Flavor is initially of roasted malts before the vanilla overpowers anything else that might be present.. 6 oz. of this would have been more enjoyable for me than 12. Body is thin to medium with lively carbonation. I was hoping for more of a porter and less vanilla extract.

The aroma of the beer is subtle, blending vanilla and roasted malts, and the appearance combines a reddish brown color with a medium light head that diminishes quickly. The taste is mildly sweet yet quite umami, which is a nice blend; furthermore, the palate’s fairly complementary due to the oily texture, medium body, soft carbonation, and a long yet muted extension of the flavor. bottle. Poured almost black with a ruby hue and a creamy mocha head. Roasted, dark fruit aroma. Medium oily mouthfeel with tight carbonation. Toasted malt flavour with vanilla and coffee notes and a touch of smoke. Oscbert (1339) - Lincoln, California, USA - DEC 13, 2012
~Roasty coffee aroma with dark chocolate and light vanilla bready notes. Metallic notes as well.
~Pours black with rich garnet highlights and a lasting beige head.
~Vanilla is more prominent in the flavor. Creamy vanilla flavor with lots of roasty malt flavors of coffee and dark chocolate.
~Medium bodied, medium CO2, smooth feel. Bitter roast finish.
~Enjoyable beer. The roastiness could be lowered a bit. Nothing real special about this one. ozzy70 (1338) - Omaha, Nebraska, USA - NOV 15, 2015

Bottle poured brown-red hue w/ small tan fully diminishing head. Medium aroma of vanilla coffee w/ some caramel. Taste is light sweet w/ a strong vanilla extract flavor. Light bodied, lively carbonation and watery texture. Amped up vanilla to hide an inferior porter.
