FROTHINGSLOSH (8139) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 22, 2015
Sampled on draft at Social this beer poured a very dark brown color with red highlights and a medium sized foamy beige head that faded quickly and left no lacing. The aroma was faintly tangy and malty. The flavor was malty with molasses, vanilla extract, cookie dough and a hint of dark fruits. Long malty vanilla extract finish. Medium body but smooth. Ok.

Sample at Tap Room, I would never give any money to this brewer so I was glad to try a sample. Notes of nuts, cocoa, vanilla bean, roasty malts, and some other misc grains. Very easy going. Honestly for Leinenkugel, this thing wasn’t a total piece of crap.

12 oz. bottle. Darker brown / almost black color. Aroma is pure vanilla extract and light chocolate notes. The body is thin even for Porter standards. Vanilla extract though the sip without much else backing it up. Light cocoa powder, carbonation needs to be tuned down, touch to fizzy. Drinkable not overly sweet but not much to it.

Strykzone (7624) - Wood River, Illinois, USA - DEC 14, 2013
After doing the MountainZilla trail run the radio crew stopped in at Chubby’s in Alton and I was pleasantly surprised to find this. I got the last half pint as the keg ran dry. This beer poured quite dark and had a creamy layer. The aroma was vanilla and was pronounced. That was also tasted and later cocoa. This tended to be a sweet beer and the feel was somewhat creamy.

Draft. Poured clear, medium-deep brown with a reddish tint to it. The aroma picked up heavy vanilla bean paired with lightly-smoked black malt.. sweet overall. The flavor found sweet vanilla bean and roasty black malts at the core, with bitter coffee and smoky roast around.. higher, fairly sharp acidity at times.. finished with prickly carbonation amplifying sharp-ish roast. Light-medium bodied with sharp carbonation on the palate.. I was expecting a little smoother and creamier, but it was alright.

From a 12 oz bottle shared at home. Pours a clear cola with an ecur head. Aroma of vanilla and toffee. Light bodied. Some caramel lurking around. Smooth finish.

Aroma is slightly oxidized malts and vanilla. The flavor is vanilla, oxidized malts and an acidic/oxidized finish.
