Sampled on draft at Social this beer poured a very dark brown color with red highlights and a medium sized foamy beige head that faded quickly and left no lacing. The aroma was faintly tangy and malty. The flavor was malty with molasses, vanilla extract, cookie dough and a hint of dark fruits. Long malty vanilla extract finish. Medium body but smooth. Ok.

12 ounce. Thin sort of porter body with fairly strong vanilla taste. The vanilla, though, doesnt blend blend well with rest of beer and leaves an artificial taste.

Bottle:   Deep ruby, thin sudsy tannish head, little lacing.   Soft roasted nose, faint vanilla.   Toasted malts on the tongue, dusty/earthy vanilla follows.   Thankfully not as strong as others, but the vanilla does linger from start to finish, as I suppose it should.   Not as roasty as I would like for a porter.   Body and mouthfeel are average.   Toasted malt finish, vanilla notes but not bright.   Not a big porter, malty nor hoppy, with a vanilla that does seem somewhat artificial.   Not bad I suppose, but nothing I would reach for again.

Bottle. Dark pour with tan head. Light roasted and vanilla aromas, however artificial. Vanilla, chocolate, and roasted flavors.

After doing the MountainZilla trail run the radio crew stopped in at Chubbys in Alton and I was pleasantly surprised to find this. I got the last half pint as the keg ran dry. This beer poured quite dark and had a creamy layer. The aroma was vanilla and was pronounced. That was also tasted and later cocoa. This tended to be a sweet beer and the feel was somewhat creamy.

Bottle: The aroma consists roasted nuts, light caramel, chocolate, and a hint of vanilla. It pours a dark brown with some faint orange highlights. It has a small beige head that quickly fades to a ring around the edges of the glass. The flavor starts with a quick dose of sweet chocolate, caramel, and vanilla notes. The finish has light-moderate roasted nuts with a touch of coffee. Its light bodied with moderate carbonation. Overall, considering its from Leinenkugel, I expected it to be much sweeter. Its not that sweet and the vanilla isnt over the top.

Bottle. Pours, looks and smells like a porter. Theres a definite vanilla essence in the aroma, and an evenly tilted vanilla swirl in the flavor, too. Not bad. (#5339, 11/23/2013)

12 oz. bottle. Darker brown / almost black color. Aroma is pure vanilla extract and light chocolate notes. The body is thin even for Porter standards. Vanilla extract though the sip without much else backing it up. Light cocoa powder, carbonation needs to be tuned down, touch to fizzy. Drinkable not overly sweet but not much to it.
