12oz bottle poured into a shaker. Pours a very dark brown with a ruby hue. Aroma is mostly coffee with a little vanilla, chocolate and some caramel. Taste is light sweet. Vanilla is dominate with some coffee and chocolate to follow. Light bodied with a smooth texture. Lively carbonation and a surprisingly long finish. Overall, very good. Other than the Big Eddy series, this is by far the best beer made by Leinie. portableparty (2398) - Blaine, Minnesota, USA - NOV 3, 2012
12 oz. bottle. Pours dark clear brown with a tight khaki head that settles to a wispy film and soapy collar. Aroma is big sweet vanilla and roasted malt, but the vanilla is very strong and artificial. Taste is pretty much the same as the scent, but with even more vanilla sweetness and syrup. The malt is present and there is some nuttiness as well. Palate medium slick and sticky dry. I really don’t mind this, but the vanilla is a bit over the top. wxman (1865) - O’Fallon, Illinois, USA - NOV 8, 2012
Pours a clear dark cola color with a respectable khaki head that diminishes rather quickly to a thin coating at the surface. Aroma is roasted malt, chestnuts and baker’s vanilla. Vanilla comes through in the taste as well, along with buttery biscuits, sweet roasted malt and some coffee and cocoa. Texture is thinner than a porter should be and of course the head disappeared, but these are only asthetics. The taste is pretty decent and enjoyable. crhensel (145) - New Jersey, USA - DEC 2, 2012
Poured a deep brown/black with a very small head. Nose had hints of the vanilla with a heavy roast. A little lively on the tongue, the flavor is actually a little sweet at first then a heavier smoky malt with the advertised chocolate notes comes in at the end. Nice sipper at the end if the day.

Draft - pours dark amber with thin tan head and thin lacing. Nose is roasty. Flavor adds nuttiness, chocolate and vanilla. Mod sweet and weaker bitterness. Creamy body. Faint smoky aftertaste. Meh.

12oz pour - Not altogether bad. Some nice maltiness with, yes, a decent amount of vanilla on the back end. Little cola like, but this exceeded my expectations. ryanfolty (2655) - Bourbon County, Minnesota, USA - DEC 13, 2012
December 13, 2012 on tap at MKE airport. Seemed to be a brown pour with limited head. Aroma was roasted malt, sweetness that seemed to be a combo of vanilla and lactose. Taste was consistent with aroma, mostly roasted malt but got had a little vanilla in there and was creamy, maybe even slightly nutty in the finish. Not bad, much better than their regular offerings. Bottle. Poured dark brown color with an average frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate roasted sweet malt and soft vanilla aroma. Medium body with a creamy texture and flat carbonation. Medium toasted vanilla sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. My expectations were met.

12oz screwtop bottle. Pours dark brown with a creamy tan head. Expected much worse based on other Leinys but this wasn’t half bad. A bit on the thin side but a nice looking beer and the taste was pretty good. The vanilla was subtle, also had notes of coffee and dark chocolate. 16oz draft 12/18/12 (The Town)-Pours a dark brown/light black with a light tan head. Aroma of vanilla, roasted malt, and chocolate. Taste of vanilla, chocolate, coffee, and malt. This medium bodied brew is well balanced and quite tasty. A bit light but still good.
