Carol’s chili fest. Wasn’t expecting to like this, but actually had a lot of good flavor and could have had a few of these. I liked the sweetness in this, a good balance with the lightly roasted malt and the sweet vanilla flavor. Wasn’t too overbearing at all. Surprisingly good.

You can definitely taste the vanilla - it gives the beer more sweetness than most porters. Some carmel notes as well. Very dark brown, with a medium brown head.

Bottle. Dark brown pour with a quickly disappearing tan head. Big vanilla aroma, with tones of chocolate and coffee. The vanilla may not taste natural, but there’s no mistaking its flavor. Slighly bitter, cocoa finish. Creamy texture with average carbonation. A little thin but its a simple recipe that works well for the Winter. Probably my favorite Leiny offering.

Pours a dark brown body with a frothy white head. Mild chocolate, vanilla, coffee, and general roastiness. At $5.99/12 on closeout, this is the best value purchase I’ve made in a long time.

Pours deep brown with almost no carbonation and no head to speak of. Roasty aroma with caramel notes. Coffee and chocolate flavor with vanilla. Would have liked some carbonation, but a pleasing brew nonetheless.

12 oz bottle. Pours an opaque dark dark brown with a layer of tan head. Aroma and taste of roasted malts and chocolate with a hint of vanilla. Pretty thin but not bad.

11/6/12. 12oz bottle from Publix. Dark brown pour with a small khaki head that fades to a ring. Vanilla and alcohol in the aroma with touches of chocolate and roast. Roast and chocolate hits strong with lingering sweet vanilla. Good flavors, but lacking body and depth.

Tallahassee, Fl - Publix Supermarket - 12 oz bottle. Pours a dark brown with a soft off-white head. Aroma has some chocolate accents, a hint of vanilla, pleasant. Flavor is decidedly sweet with some cocoa nibs, a touch of vanilla, some top soil in the back end and a hint of International Flavors instant coffee. Slick, even mouthfeel. Not a bad holiday treat.

UPDATED: FEB 4, 2013 I am surprised this has the low ratings it has as of right now. Had this on draft and came dark with 1 finger of brown sugar head. Aroma was exactly what I thought it should be with a strong hit of vanilla and chocolate. It had a very strong but nice vanilla taste up front followed by sweet chocolate at the fnish. Mouthfeel was light to medium which I wanted as it is a porter with minimal carbonation. In my opinion, as it should with the style and name.

Black with a decent beige head. Aroma is quite toasty with some vanilla, cocoa. Taste is of vanilla, light roastiness, and chocolate.
