This one pours nicely, with scents of dark chocolate and a head better than 1/2" high. Its color is almost as dark as a porter can be. This one comes across slightly sweet, with little bitterness but the mouthfeel is comparatively thin. Not bad from Leinie’s but not my favorite vanilla porter. Pours dark chocolate with a thick dark foam. Initial taste of cocoa with a mild vanilla middle taste. Very light for a vanilla porter with a smooth finish

Pours a black color with tan head. Vanilla, chocolate, coffee, and some caramel on the nose, very aromatic; follows onto the palate. Finishes with a little sweetness. mlane76 (58) - Albany, Georgia, USA - OCT 31, 2014
From the bottle...smooth and creamy flavor...I enjoyed it. It was different, with hints of vanilla Itzjerm (3074) - Taft, Tennessee, USA - JAN 31, 2015
A nice beer but has a medicine type ending. Good vanilla aroma. Nice head. Balanced a bit thin.

From the bottle at a friend’s house for dinner and beer tasting. Nice dark pour with minimal head. good roasted malts and classic porter with a good touch of vanilla. mnmike (1086) - Minnesota, USA - NOV 25, 2012
Had on tap. I really like the vanilla aromas and aftertaste. Feels like this should be a bit "darker" but it’s still good. One of the better winter seasonals in the upper midwest area jb (3345) - Rochester, New York, USA - DEC 2, 2012
Dark with orange highlights and clear. Creamy looking head. Chocolate and roasted malt nose. Rich palate, sweet, full, just a tiny vanilla taste at the end, the way I like it. (gas statiion growler, thanks Bob!) drostj (113) - Huntsville, Alabama, USA - DEC 4, 2012
Bottle. Deep rich brown color with a faint creamy head. Light malty aroma. Smooth roasted malt taste with a hint of vanilla and some coffee. Slightly sweet with a pleasant full feel in the mouth. I like my porters a bit more robust, but this is a nice variation on the standard porter style. chinchill (5226) - South Carolina, USA - DEC 18, 2012
2012 12 oz bottle with a 2013 date on the neck. Pours a clear, dark reddish-brown with a small but durable tan head.
Good (restrained) level of vanilla, although rather pronounced mid-taste. Excellent, malty/nutty aftertaste. Good sweet/bitter balance. Medium+ body with lively, moderate carbonation.
O: This excellent seasonal was a pleasant surprise. Perhaps my favorite Leinie.
