Bottle thanks to milkmandan: We poured this to a chorus of "wow that looks just like a Northwoods sunset....smells just a like a Northwoods sunset....wow even tastes like a Northwoods sunset". Just like in description, we were left speechless, well at least after the obvious Northwoods sunset comments. But if you’ve had it then you know how spot on that beer hits "Northwoods sunset". Ok now for the actual rating. Pale yellow, slightly cloudy body, with a medium white head. The aroma is a nice spicy floral hops, chamomile, and cilantro scent (I know, I could have just said Northwoods sunset but I’m breaking it down into pieces here). Taste is chamomile, lavender, tea, lemon zest, and somewhere in the background, much like a band groupie with a backstage VIP pass, yes, you know what I’m going to say here, a Northwoods sunset. Light bodied, medium carbonated, crisp. Overall it tastes just like a Northwoods sunset, not medicine. zombywoof (467) - Overland Park, Kansas, USA - JUL 4, 2006
Actually, I like this better than most of the American wheats I’ve had-it has a creamy mouthfeel and a spicy finish. Wheat flavor a little subdued but has a sweet orange and coriander taste. Dragonfly1 (500) - Colorado, USA - JUL 3, 2006
Fez Monkey, you did not get a bad bottle. This is how the beer tastes. I am a big fan of weiss beers, but this one was quite bad. I’m not kidding, it tasted like Froot Loops cereal, it was that sweet and lemony. Fonix7 (50) - Toledo, Ohio, USA - JUN 30, 2006
I had a few of these off tap at my local Bw’s while mowing on some Mango Habanero wings... they went great together. It was served with a wedge of orange. I enjoyed the wheat and orange taste but picked up on the lemon. Not much finish. antisnobJP (275) - St. Michael, Minnesota, USA - JUN 29, 2006
Bottle. Tastes like drinking a Honey Weiss while chewing up coriander seeds. Very lemon and orange without any wit character to speak of. It is probably a lager at heart like the Honey Weiss. Disappointing.

Cloudy pale straw color with a snow-white head and lacing. The nose has lots of orange and coriander with a hint of licorice. The flavor is the same. Light in body. Smooth in texture. Not great but not bad either. Pigfoot (2268) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - JUN 28, 2006
Pale, light straw yella, hazed appearance, with a snowy white head that drifts down to a slight sheet, then a faint ring.
Aroma, bright lemon and orange zest, with light spices on the side. Immediately feels just right for a witbier nose. Clean, zippy, fruity, creamy citrus with commanding coriander.
Big lemon on the tongue, meringue pie, creamy and fruity, but without much substance below. Fills the mouth, but without much beyond lemon, then softly slips away. Way too much lemon in this, not even enough orange, and the spice has disappeared in the flavor. Apes the wit in aroma and looks, but chokes when it comes to the actual taste of it.
too thin in body in the end, just a vapor of character. Finish diminishes behind a whisper of lemon.
Drinkability misses, too, bases on the too- pointed presence of lemon, against anything else. I guess I’d drink it if I had to, but they could have done better, could have tried harder. FezMonkey (268) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - JUN 27, 2006
hazy amber color with a medium head. I may have a bad bottle. it had a bitter taste and left a bitter aftertaste. Drain pour. lancenelson (26) - Nebraska, USA - JUN 27, 2006
Nice, sweet, fruity taste. Very similar to Blue Moon, but somewhat more robust. Good beer for a hot day. SledgeJr (3577) - Omaha, Nebraska, USA - JUN 24, 2006
In the bottle from MacDoogles in Pineville AR. Pours an orange-gold color with a chunky white head and huge carbonation bubbles. Aroma is awesome of passion fruit! The taste is citrus, much like a shandy. Lemon-lime. Has a medium sweetness. This is surprisingly a good beer. The body is thin like all Leine’s, but tasty.
