Een donker bier met een heel bijzondere, uitgesproken smaak. Ik vond het top. Jerre (3800) - Waregem, BELGIUM - JAN 10, 2007
UPDATED: FEB 21, 2008 Bottle, 25 cl. Dark brown beer, with light carbonation and a off white head. Aroma = sweet fruity with a light sourish touch. Malty palate, sweet fruity and creamy taste. Light bitter ending sweeter, dry. Not so bad.

Bottle, 6%. BB 2006, last year. Roasted aroma, slightly creamy. Very dark brown colour. The flavour starts off sweet, and has a distinct iron/vitamin drink flavour. Creamy mouthfeel. Coconut aftertaste. Actually not too bad. McCracken (14) - San Francisco, California, USA - JUN 16, 2008
Poured with a tan head that somewhat quickly dissipated and effervesced. The appearance is very dark brown if not almost black with light garnet highlights. Almost like a blackberry.
Aroma is light and fruity, almost champagne or winelike in its soft grape-like character. Some raisin-like aromas are present.
Mouthfeel is highly carbonated with light mouthfeel. No astringency and no alcohol warmth.
The flavor is also quite mild but has some nice fruity character that brings it together. Light spicy yeast character with some light raisiny esters. Bitterness is medium low but no hop flavor or aroma to speak of. The finish is dry and again, like champagne, though finishes with a nice mild sweetness that lingers for a bit.
Overall, very drinkable and digestable given the dry finish. Interesting and worth trying if you can find it. This version wasn’t marketed as "dark", but it probably was the same thing...

Bottled (6%). Dark brown colour, huge brown head. Aroma is vanilla, fruits and toffee. Flavour is Dark chocolate, vanills and dark, dry fruits. Also some slight hints of licorace and caramel. Slightly watery palate, but otherwise quite pleasant. Gr0ve (2176) - Oslo, NORWAY - FEB 27, 2008
250 ml bottle. Mahogany with a ruby red hue. Clear. Very tall fluffy light beige head. Interesting plummy and wheaty aroma. No hops to be identified. Feels a little dry in the nose, but there is still a lot of dried fruit. Some esters from Belgian yeast. Crisp carbonation. Definitely a clean hop bitterness, which nicely balances the dried fruit and leathery flavours. Medium-bodied. Nice and rounded. Clean dry hop bitterness. Different, but very nice. 250 ml bottle, as "Leireken Bio Boekweit Bruin / Sarasin Brune", now available in Norway (Vinmonopolet, bestillingsutvalget), at an outrageous price. ABV is 6%. BB date end of 2007. Organic beer. Dark brown coloured beer, huge tan head. Moderate aroma of malts with hints of red wine vinegar, caramel, oak and spices. Moderately malty flavour but fairly dry, with hints of oak and spices. Decent enough, but not worth the high price in Norway. tomciccateri (1034) - Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA - AUG 27, 2007
From a brwon 750ml bottle. Pours a dense gold color with a full white head. Floral aroma with a unique spicy character. Light-bodied and effervescent. A full mouthfeel with a slightly wheaty character and slightly sweet finish. Refreshing.
