COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The nose will enjoy pepper and gentle roasting aromas such as cocoa and bitter chocolate. After a crisp initial taste, the malt releases more gentle avours. The texture is dry. A subtle acid kick from the roasting aromas leads to the nale: toffee, toast and cocoa notes gently linger. Dominantly malty, slim, dry.

Silvan7 (1231) - Samarate, ITALY - NOV 6, 2013
On tap @ brewpub, Berlin. colore ambrato carico, limpida schiuma nocciola abbastanza fine poco persistente.

Tap at the brewpub. Pours clear, red-brown with a moderate, light tan foam head. Dark malt nose, light caramel, perhaps even some cocoa. Light roast in the nose! (Havent encountered much roast in Berlin.) Very, very nice flavor. Good roasty wholegrain bread, some earthy bitterness, light to medium sweetness, toast, toasty sugars, light burnt wood. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Light earthy, roasty finish, mild earthy hops, lingering toast, light cocoa and caramel. One of the best brewpub beers of Berlin.

Try the beer sampler at this brewpub, interesting contrasts. The original was by far my favourite of the four that were available. I wish they had a Steinkrug for this, it would have made for an even more pleasureable experience.
