COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The nose will enjoy pepper and gentle roasting aromas such as cocoa and bitter chocolate. After a crisp initial taste, the malt releases more gentle avours. The texture is dry. A subtle acid kick from the roasting aromas leads to the nale: toffee, toast and cocoa notes gently linger. Dominantly malty, slim, dry.

Draught at the Mitte location. Ruby-amber clear body, lacing white head. Lightly bitter and sticky with mild grains, do like the light roast malt coming through but the caramel is a little off. Only very lightly sweet medium body, hops cleanse the palate. Probably has the most depth of their beers.

Brauhaus Lemke, Berlin. Oplos, narancsos rnyalattal br vilgosbarna szne s kiss krmes, piszkosfehr habja van. Illatban is zben is hasonl sszetevők vehetők ki: getett cukor, vajkaramell, malta s rengeteg mazsola. Kzepesen testes, kellemesen sznsavas keserdes Dunkel. Nem rossz, de semmi klns, hasonl a legtbb helyi barnhoz.

Beer No. 36 on my tour through Austria, Germany and Denmark.
Draught at the brewpub. Pale amber coloured, small off-white head, caramelish nose. Sweet malty, caramel and mild nutty with notes of hops in the finish. Pretty ordinary and also watery.

Draft @ Lemke, Mitte. Ambre, mousse blanche. Beau profile de malt grill, touche de caramel pils avec un fini houblonn. Reste lgre et pour un changement pas cet aspect trop liquoreux quont bcp dautres Dunkel.

(On tap at Brauhaus Lemke, Hackescher Markt) Pours a light-brown body with medium, off-white head. Faint aroma of toasted malt. Taste is mostly sweet. Texture is thin. Softly carbonated. Weak-bodied, with a short, burnt finish. Unremarkable and boring.

UPDATED: MAR 15, 2011 Mitte location: Ruby-brown with slight haze. The aroma hints at yeasty, husky, slightly toasty beer. Very toasty, a bit thin, yeasty. Pretty basic rustic in a boring way dunkel. 6-3-6-3-11 = 2.9

Charlottenburg location: Hazy tawny brown. The aroma is mostly toasty with a hint of chocolate. The palate is reasonably full with toasty, chocolatey notes. A decent, rounded dunkel. 6-3-7-3-14 = 3.3

Beershine (5224) - VANCOUVER, British Columbia, CANADA - FEB 11, 2011
Draft at brewpub. Nice copper hue with stable head. Clean balanced malt aroma, has a nicely husky flavor, just the right amount. Something is American about this one, cant quite place why. Tastes like corporate brewpub fare. Nice for what it is.

Dorqui (2220) - Brescia, ITALY - SEP 14, 2010
Draught at Brauhaus Lemkes am Schlo (Charlottenburg - Berlin).
Rather intense brown color with good bubbly aspcet. Creamy and adherent head. Bitterish taste with rivers resin notes, burned and aged wood, braced cereals. Perceivable alcohol but extremely balanced one.
