Clear medium to dark amber color with a average, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, nutty, light dusty, light to moderate hoppy. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft. 
From tap at the brewpub, Louisen Bräu, Charlottenburg. Pours hazy orange/brown with a lacing off-white head. Mild liqourice and roasted malt aroma. Sweet flavoured. Bottled. Deep amber colour with a small slightly off-white longlasting head. Aroma is mild coffee, some toasted notes, a bit wood as well as some herbal and floral notes. Flavour is cookies, some sweet malts, mild toffee and toasted notes. A bit on the watery side.

On tap. At "Lemke am Schloss", Berlin-Charlottenburg. Slightly hazy dark amber with a creamy, off-white head. Sweetish roasted malt aroma. Medium body, sweetish roasted malt, a whiff of burned caramel and a fairly hoppy finish. Tap at the brewpub. Pours clear, red-brown with a moderate, light tan foam head. Dark malt nose, light caramel, perhaps even some cocoa. Light roast in the nose! (Haven’t encountered much roast in Berlin.) Very, very nice flavor. Good roasty wholegrain bread, some earthy bitterness, light to medium sweetness, toast, toasty sugars, light burnt wood. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Light earthy, roasty finish, mild earthy hops, lingering toast, light cocoa and caramel. One of the best brewpub beers of Berlin.
