COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The nose will enjoy pepper and gentle roasting aromas such as cocoa and bitter chocolate. After a crisp initial taste, the malt releases more gentle avours. The texture is dry. A subtle acid kick from the roasting aromas leads to the nale: toffee, toast and cocoa notes gently linger. Dominantly malty, slim, dry.

larsniclas (7210) - Billdal, SWEDEN - JAN 23, 2004
Draught at the brewpub. Redbrown. Malty aroma with notes of strawberryjam(?). Smooth and dry with an almost IPA-ish flavour; nutty, grassy and hoppy.

ekstedt (6976) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - JUN 8, 2008
A 10 cl draught sample at the brewpub. Hay copper with medium beige head. Roasted, almost burnt malt aroma with some earthy hops. Ok moothfeel, a bit spritzy. Dry and surpriingly bitter for a dunkel.

SinH4 (6250) - Garching b. Mnchen, GERMANY - SEP 27, 2016
Tap sampler tray at the Brewpub Hackescher Markt. Hazy dark amber, nearly brown-ish color with small tan head. Aroma is caramel, bready, earthy, a bit nutty. Taste is bready, nutty, a bit sweet, nearly sticky. A bit messy, but quite nice, although I have to say that I generally like Ambers.

kappldav123 (6133) - GERMANY - APR 3, 2017
Tap at the brewpub. Brownish coloured, small head. Surprising smokey aroma. Starts fine malty, earthy, hints of some spices. Light chocolate notes. Finish a bit milder. Not as smokey as the aroma made me exspect. Nice one!

3.2
Marko (6088) - Split / Zagreb, CROATIA - MAR 9, 2010
Draught at the Hackescher Markt location. Poured a hazy radk red body with a small off white head. Light caramelly nose. A nicely sweet taste, Woody, perfumey and polleny. Slightly bready, eggy. Some bitter herbal hopiness, some yeastiness that clashes with the rest. Bitter aftertaste too. Got better as it warmed.

3.1
Emil (6064) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - OCT 31, 2007
Draught at the brauhaus. A brown beer with a big off-white head. The aroma is of caramel malt, light roasted and hops, the taste is of caramel malt, light butter and hops. Medium body with a light sweet dry finish.

3.2
ganache (6050) - New Jersey, USA - NOV 19, 2011
Draught at the Mitte location. Ruby-amber clear body, lacing white head. Lightly bitter and sticky with mild grains, do like the light roast malt coming through but the caramel is a little off. Only very lightly sweet medium body, hops cleanse the palate. Probably has the most depth of their beers.
