COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Sampled with Holmen1. Wow! Pours a rich black colour with a thick tan head. Rich burnt aromas and a spectacularly deep and complex taste. Plums, liquorice, coffee, tobacco and dried fruit flavous all contribute to the rich mixture. There is a slight smokiness and even a hint of barbecued pork. Good bitter hop taste at the end. Extremely enjoyable to drink. Rarely does one find a beer of such richness and complexity.

Almost black with a big brown, creamy , tastey head. Almost no aroma. Creamy mourhfeel. Taste bitter chocolate, dried fruit, cream, sweet toffee. Aftertaste bitter, fruity. Undefinely between amber ale, porter and belgian ale.

750ml bottle via Secret Santa pours a murky, deep black with lots of frothy, beige head. Nose has burnt wheat chaff, some rubber, burnt toast, caramel, burnt molasses, a little yeasty, some charcoal. Flavor is extremely earthy and dry, soil, burnt toast, wheat chaff, chalky, a little nutty, some molasses, licorice. Very dry, almost too dry, on the end.

Tap at Taphouse. Clear dark brown color with very huge brown head, that stands for a long time. It took about 15 minutes for the waiters to pour it. A great beer.Aroma roasted malts with nice and delicat coffee notes. Taste roasted malts, coffee, licorice, a very delicate and complex beer. I had a speedway stout later in the evening and this beer was so much better than the speedway stout.

Draft. A Black beer with a lazing dark Brown head. The aroma has notes of alcohol, fruits, yeast, and hints of smoke. The flavor is sweet with notes of alcohol, roasted malt, smoke, Wood, and fruits, leading to a bitter roasted finish.

On tap at Søernes Ølbar. Pours completely black with a big tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee and sweet dried fruits. Taste is like the aroma but with notes of chocolate, yeast, bread and spices. Medium body and lots of carbonation. Sweet with a slightly bitter finish. Not bad but I’d hoped for more from a Belgian style ale.

Sinful black stuff with a fine beige head. Good looking babe. Lots of chocolate and coffee. Yummi. A bit soft carbonation. Fine balance between sweetness and bitterness. Powerful evening sipper this one. Lovely balanced coffee, espresso, chocolate and mild fruit flavor. One is enough for one evening. Tasty stuff.
[On tap @ Daglighallen in Trondheim, Norway]
